00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:03Still wet across the country as we head through to Thursday, even Friday towards the east,
00:08but things are slowly improving from the west into the weekend.
00:12Now through Wednesday evening, showery rain continues across the bulk of England and Wales,
00:16as well as Scotland, away from the far north east.
00:19Now towards the west, a slow moving band of rain arrives across Northern Ireland,
00:22a keen breeze here as the rain moves across to western Scotland, Wales, as well as the west country.
00:27At the same time, some dry weather to end the day across the south east of England.
00:32Temperatures holding up wherever you are, around 5 to 7, 8 degrees Celsius,
00:36but a windy start to the day across eastern Scotland.
00:39Some clearer skies for Shetland here, even some sunshine before we see more clouds and some showery bursts of rain.
00:45Patchy rain for eastern Scotland, and then this band of more persistent rain continues,
00:50particularly on the upslopes of the higher ground.
00:52By this point though, you can see some dry skies coming in across the south east of Northern Ireland,
00:56west Wales, the west country, eventually seeing even some brighter weather,
01:00and certainly some slices of sunshine for the south east of England,
01:03and they'll migrate towards east Anglia, even Lincolnshire as we head through the afternoon.
01:08So this band of rain is fairly slow moving.
01:10The winds will remain strong across eastern Scotland, and eventually we'll see some rain across Shetland.
01:15Orkney also seeing some showery bursts of rain,
01:17and this rain just stalls across the central spine of the country,
01:20with some showers across Northern Ireland through the afternoon.
01:23Temperatures typically coming in for 13 at the very best,
01:26if you catch some brighter weather towards the south east of England,
01:29generally around 8 to 11 degrees Celsius.
01:32So that's the picture come Thursday.
01:35On Friday, that weather front tends to stall across more eastern counties,
01:40so always more clouds here, even a little rain from time to time,
01:44but a trend to some brighter weather from the west into the weekend.
01:47Yes, it's going to feel quite cold by night, with the risk of frost by day,
01:51temperatures struggling a little bit,
01:53and always more clouds as we head through to the latter part of the weekend,
01:56across more eastern areas.
01:58I'll see you later. Bye bye.
