00:00Hello there. Now over the next few days, rain or showers, certainly we'll see some lively
00:05weather across southern parts of the country with some brighter skies further north. However,
00:10through Thursday, here's your bigger picture. The ice bars open up. Yes, you'll see a lighter
00:14breeze, particularly towards the east and north. Some sunshine as well. Temperatures
00:19will be higher than what they have been, but showers never too far away. And then waiting
00:23in the wings, this area of low pressure, which will really track in through Thursday night
00:27and into Friday across England and Wales. Before that, though, on Wednesday evening,
00:32it's a wet one. Certainly that will be the case across England and Wales. These bright
00:36echoes representing some intense bursts of rain into the early hours of Thursday morning
00:41as it pushes northeastward. So expect spray, surface water and showers to follow. Elsewhere
00:47through Wednesday evening and into Thursday, this batch of rain here clears towards Shetland.
00:52Yes, we'll see some strong winds across the Western Isles, but then some clearer skies
00:56emerge across Northern Ireland. Much of Scotland, the far north of England, as this rain pushes
01:01towards eastern counties into Thursday morning. Temperatures holding up wherever you are seven
01:06or eight across Scotland, 10 or 11 further south. And that heralds a mild day on Thursday.
01:12So through Thursday morning, sunshine to start the day across much of Scotland. There'll
01:17be some showers lurking around across northern England. Further showers moving in from the
01:21southwest and they will develop in situ through the day. They'll be scattered across Scotland
01:26away from the southeast, but they could band together to form longer spells of rain through
01:30the afternoon, particularly across the M4 corridor, eastern counties as well. In between
01:35though, yes, you'll see some sunshine, more sunshine on offer than the last few days,
01:39helping temperatures up 16 or 17 degrees Celsius. But notice towards the southwest, that is
01:44where the cloud will continue to thicken and the winds will pick up some strength. So through
01:49Thursday evening, it turns wet and windy across southern parts of England and Wales. The rain
01:53perhaps pushes up towards northern counties, extends towards Northern Ireland through the
01:56early hours of the morning. And this strong wind here could touch gale force along the
02:01south coast, certainly gales for the Channel Islands. So if you're stepping out first thing
02:05on Friday morning, cloudy for the Northern Isles, brighter skies and a bit cool to start
02:09the day across much of Scotland. But at least you'll see some sunshine, clouds and some
02:13outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland. The far north of England seeing some drier weather,
02:18but then we run into more clouds and some showery bursts of rain, which will be more
02:21persistent and intense across the West Country, central and southern parts of England down
02:26towards the southeast. So that's the centre of the low. It is tracking towards the low
02:30countries and then we'll see sunshine through the morning and into the afternoon further
02:35north. This system never gets further north, but we will see a few showers later on in
02:39the day as that showery rain just extends towards these parts and temperatures yet again
02:44reach the mid teens. So that's the warmth on Friday. That's the low pressure system
02:49clearing towards France. We could see some showery bursts on Saturday, more cloud, but
02:53look at this. The air turns colder through Saturday and into Sunday. It's a blip, but
02:57this ridge of high pressure on Sunday morning could allow for a bit of a cold start to the
03:01day before all change into the beginning of next week.
