28 March - National weather forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Low pressure never too far away through the rest of March, rain or showers gales from
00:06time to time, temperatures though generally on the mild side through the next few days.
00:10Now through Wednesday you can see this area of low pressure just bringing with it a succession
00:14of weather fronts delivering cloud, rain and also some strong winds, gales particularly
00:19towards the northwest of the country, lively conditions wherever you are.
00:23The ice piles open up a little bit on Thursday but still sunshine and showers.
00:27Just backtrack to Tuesday evening, you can see this rain pushing ever northwards.
00:30And then the legacy of cloud, low cloud at that, winds will be strong towards the west
00:35where we continue to see a feed of showery bursts of rain and even towards the south
00:40as well.
00:41A cold start to the day on Wednesday towards the northeast of Scotland, elsewhere relatively
00:45mild.
00:46You see this bank of cloud and rain just pushing ever northwards and northeastwards.
00:50There will be some holes in the cloud through the day across the eastern side of England,
00:55and even further south across the Midlands but towards the south there, showery bursts
00:59of rain to start Wednesday.
01:02So through the morning on Wednesday we watch as these bands of wet weather again push across
01:08the country.
01:09Winds will continue to pick up and it's this area of low pressure here which will track
01:13in through the latter part of the day, allowing for some intense bursts of rain, particularly
01:18across Wales, the west country, up towards western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:22But temperatures typically coming in around 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and always the chance
01:26of some brighter weather to the east of the Pennines through the afternoon.
01:30But let's pick up on this showery rain which will be heavy through Wednesday evening causing
01:35problems on the roads as it tracks northwards.
01:37Similar situation for Northern Ireland, a better end to the night here as the rain continues
01:42its passage towards the east.
01:45Clearer skies to start the day on Thursday and in fact we will see sunshine and showers
01:49through the day.
01:50Look at these temperatures, 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, so a milder day all round.
01:56Slightly fresher on Friday, certainly you'll feel the difference towards more southern
02:00areas of England and Wales as this area of low pressure winds its way up, gales towards
02:05the south coast, some high waves here, outbreaks of rain just swirl around, sunshine and showers
02:10further north across Scotland before the cloud increases on Saturday.
02:14I'll see you later.
