00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest broadcast. Plenty of dry weather over the next few days
00:06and the reason for this is high pressure continues to dominate our weather. Across the UK, keeping
00:11it largely settled. However, towards the end of the week and into the weekend, weather
00:15systems will move in from the Atlantic, bringing some stronger winds and outbreaks of rain,
00:19particularly across the north and the west, little if any rain reaching the southeast
00:23where it's very much needed.
00:25Back to Wednesday afternoon, a dry picture for many of us. A lot of cloud though, but
00:29there will be some bright or sunny spells, particularly across northern and eastern parts
00:34of the UK. There is the chance of one or two light showers, but I think most places avoiding
00:38these and staying dry altogether. In terms of temperatures, generally around average
00:43for the time of year, so high teens to low 20s, perhaps around 24, locally 25 across
00:48the far southeast of the UK.
00:51Through Wednesday evening, we'll see thicker cloud across parts of the Midlands. Wales
00:55push its way northwards, turning thick enough to develop some rain on it as we head into
00:59the early hours, one or two heavier bursts possible. But elsewhere, generally dry, some
01:04clear skies, but overall a warmer night than the night just gone. Temperatures double figures
01:09across the board, 12 to 15 degrees in the towns and cities, perhaps a little bit lower
01:13than this in the countryside. So that means a fairly mild start to Thursday morning. We
01:19will have this showery rain across northern parts of England, Northern Ireland, pushing
01:23its way northwards. It does dissolve as the morning goes on. It breaks up, allows some
01:27sunny spells. Elsewhere, generally dry with sunny spells through the day. There's a low
01:31risk of the odd light shower, but I think most places staying dry. However, into the
01:35afternoon, we could see some heavier showers developing across the Borders region, Northern
01:39England and perhaps Northern Ireland too. In terms of temperatures, just lifting a little
01:44bit more, so 24, 25, a bit more widely across southern counties of England and Wales. Further
01:49north, still high teens to low 20s. So in the sunshine, feeling quite pleasant. And
01:54we continue with the pleasant weather as we move into Friday as well. Temperatures lifting
01:59a little bit more, 27, possibly 28 across the far southeast, generally further north.
02:04Quite a bit of cloud around still, but a lot of dry weather. And if you'd like more information
