29 July - National weather forecast presented by Annie Shuttleworth
Transcript
00:00Hi there. Plenty more dry and calm weather to come for many of us through Friday. But
00:05Thursday's actually been a relatively wet day for south-western parts of Scotland. And
00:10overnight it'll stay quite murky here with outbreaks of rain coming and going across
00:14much of Scotland and northern England through the night. Elsewhere it'll be a dry and clear
00:19night and we could see some patches of mist and fog developing, especially across Northern
00:23Ireland and parts of the south-west. Temperatures dipping down in rural spots but for most of
00:29us they'll be in the mid-teens by Friday morning. So a bright start to Friday for much
00:34of Wales, central southern England, as well as Northern Ireland and northern Scotland
00:39too. And even where we see that cloudier start across northern England and southern Scotland,
00:44the sun will come out by the afternoon, though we could see the odd shower breaking out here
00:48and there as well. With more sunshine around on Friday it will be a warmer day than Thursday,
00:54highs of 27 degrees in the south-east. But elsewhere temperatures will be climbing into
01:00the low 20s across the rest of the UK, so it will be a warm feeling day for most of
01:05us. Through Friday evening much of the cloud will tend to fade away, any showers drying
01:10out as well too, so a dry end to the working week for most of us. But notice across Northern
01:16Ireland and western Scotland some quite persistent and heavy rain will push in overnight, bringing
01:22some breezier weather too as well. Temperatures for most of us will be warmer than the previous
01:28night. In the south-east we could see temperatures in the high teens, so it could be a little
01:32bit of an uncomfortable one for some of us out there. On Saturday morning much of that
01:37rain will continue for northern areas, much of Northern Ireland and Scotland, but it will
01:42turn patchier in nature for most of us. However it will push into parts of west Wales and
01:47across the south-west too. But the south-east won't see the rain reach them through Saturday
01:52and so it will be another dry day here with plenty more warm sunshine as well, highs of
01:5826 or 27 degrees here again, turning drier by the afternoon across northern Scotland
02:04as well through Saturday afternoon. Into Sunday we could start to see the prospect of some
02:10rain push into more southern areas as a new frontal system drifts into central and southern
02:15parts of England, while we see cooler air spread into more northern areas of England.
02:21However there is a little bit of uncertainty in the forecast regarding this front and because
02:26of that it's important to keep up to date with the forecast and you can do that by following
02:30us on social media.
