00:00Hello, welcome to the latest national weather from the Met Office. After a rather unsettled
00:04end to the week, we'll continue to see some of that unsettled and showery weather through
00:08the weekend. But Friday evening, a lot of those showers will tend to fade away and we'll
00:13start to see some clear spells developing, especially across central and southern areas
00:16of the country. Some showers will continue across northern England and Scotland and into
00:21Northern Ireland by the start of Saturday morning. But with clear spells around for
00:26those central and southern areas, temperatures will dip down into single figures for some
00:30of us, so it will be a bit of a fresher night on Friday night. On Saturday then, where we've
00:36had those clear spells, it will be a dry and quite a bright start out there. But notice
00:41further west, we're starting to see some more persistent rain push in, especially to Northern
00:45Ireland and into parts of Scotland, West Wales and the South West as well on Saturday. Further
00:51east, we're staying much drier and warmer too, highs of 28 degrees on Saturday in the
00:58south east. Cooler further west, where we've got a bit of a breeze starting to pick up,
01:03especially through the Irish Sea and across western coasts. On Saturday night, we'll continue
01:08to see that cloudy and breezy weather across western areas and it will become a bit more
01:13widespread pushing into part of the rest of Wales, parts of the Midlands too. But the
01:17heaviest pulses of rain will be across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland overnight on
01:22Saturday night. With all that cloud and that breeze, it's going to be a much warmer night
01:27than Friday night, with temperatures in the mid to high teens for many of us, so it could
01:31be a bit of an uncomfortable night for some of us once again. So Sunday will probably
01:37be a breezier day than Saturday, a bit more showers, a few more showers around for those
01:43central and southern areas, but the south east still escaping most of the rain. And
01:47because of that, it will probably be a warmer day than Saturday. Highs of 29 degrees are
01:53possible across parts of Kent or East Anglia. Elsewhere again in the low 20s, but quite
02:00breezy, especially up through those west coasts and across high ground too. Through the start
02:07of next week, we're expecting the winds to continue across northeastern areas, but it
02:11will turn generally cooler and a bit drier too. But you can find plenty more details
02:16on your forecast online.
