00:00Hello. Most of us can expect some sunshine this weekend, but it's unlikely to last all
00:05weekend as we've still got a relatively changeable theme to our weather. The front from Friday
00:11will clear off to the south-east, allowing high pressure to build from the south to bring
00:15many a fine day on Saturday, but that'll then push off to the near continent, allowing this
00:20next frontal system, with tighter isobars packed around it, to push in to the north-west
00:27for Sunday, bringing some wet and windy weather. But for now, on Friday evening, we've got
00:32a different front in tow, and that'll be sat across the south-east on Friday evening, bringing
00:37some spells of potentially heavy rain across London and into parts of Sussex and Kent for
00:43those travelling on Friday night. Elsewhere, it'll be a dry and clear night, a lot drier
00:48than the daytime on Friday, though there will be some showers still affecting western coasts
00:53of Scotland, northern England and Wales too. With plenty of clear spells, it'll be a chilly
00:59night, temperatures rurally dipping down to low single figures. But because we've still
01:05got a little bit of a breeze, we're not expecting any frost. So a chilly but bright start to
01:11the weekend on Saturday morning. There could be the odd patch of mist and fog, mainly across
01:15central and southern areas of England and Wales. And through the day, that fine and
01:20dry weather will continue, some good autumn sunshine out there. Clouds will thicken in
01:26the afternoon, especially across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland. And through
01:31the day, there will be the odd shower continuing across northern and western Scotland. However,
01:36compared to Friday, it will be a much better day. Temperatures will be about average, so
01:42feeling relatively pleasant in the sunshine, especially in the lighter winds further south.
01:48On Saturday evening, we'll continue to see a lot of dry weather across the country, clear
01:52spells developing across Wales and much of England. Cloud will thicken though across
01:57Northern Ireland and Scotland, and notice this band of heavy rain arriving by Sunday
02:02morning into the northwest. Under the clear spells, another relatively chilly night, but
02:07it won't be quite as cold as Friday night. Now, the winds will start to pick up through
02:12Sunday morning. We could see gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour affecting western coasts
02:18of Scotland. And with that band of heavy rain, it will make for some difficult travelling
02:22conditions through Sunday across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland all the way through
02:27into the afternoon. Behind that though, it will turn much clearer across the western
02:33isles into Sunday afternoon. But ahead of that, still plenty of fine weather through
02:38Sunday. Plenty of sunny spells, not quite as sunny as Saturday, but still feeling relatively
02:44warm in any sunshine, with temperatures again around average for the time of year. On Sunday
02:50evening, that rain will spread into parts of North Wales and Northern England. Behind
02:55that, we'll see clearer spells developing, which may allow some of us to take a look
03:00at October's full moon, the Hunter's Moon. You can find plenty more details on your forecast
