00:00Hello there. It's been a mixed start to Sunday morning with some of us seeing some sunny spells whereas others have seen a bit more

00:06in the way of rain. The latest radar shows scattered showers pushing their way into Western Scotland

00:12but still a fairly bright start to the Great Scottish Run.

00:15But the rain pushing across southern counties of England has made it a cloudy start for the London Marathon.

00:21This rain though will tend to clear its way off into the afternoon and for many Sunday will be a fairly fine and dry day.

00:30Still the odd shower to contend with across northwestern areas but with lighter winds here compared to Saturday

00:35it will feel a touch warmer and in the sunshine that develops across southern areas as well

00:41feeling pleasant for the start of October at least.

00:44Into Sunday evening the showers tending to fade out a bit and we'll see clear

00:49intervals developing for much of England and Wales and underneath those clear skies a few mist and fog patches are possible particularly

00:57further south and east.

00:59Temperatures will also drop off with rural locations getting down to low single figures

01:04but with the cloud building across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland

01:08temperatures will hold up a bit more into the start of Monday morning.

01:11We'll also start to see the winds strengthening as we move into the daytime with gales developing across coasts and

01:19hills. As rain begins to push its way through some heavier bursts are possible.

01:24For much of England and Wales though

01:26it will be another fairly fine and dry day. The cloud tending to make the sunshine a bit hazier at times

01:32but temperatures up by a degree or so with highs of 19 Celsius

01:37but feeling much cooler underneath the persistent cloud and rain further north and west.

01:42Into the week ahead we will see that rain begin to push its way southwards

01:46so other areas may turn damp for a time and we'll continue to see those strong winds as well.
