00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, low pressure is very

00:05much in charge of our weather as we head through the rest of today. A low pressure system brings

00:09a frontal band across the UK that will slowly push its way eastwards as we go through the

00:13rest of today. That low pressure then situated up to the north west bringing various occlusion

00:17features across the UK through the second half of the week. Back to the here and now

00:22though, and that frontal band situated much across the UK slowly pushes its way eastwards

00:27as we go through this morning. There could be some heavy downpours on here so it could

00:31cause some travel disruption during the morning rush hour but it will start turning drier

00:35and brighter behind that front. Perhaps a bit of hazy sunshine across parts of England

00:38and Wales and some showers start to push in from the west across parts of Northern Ireland

00:42and into parts of Western Scotland. Temperature wise today, a little bit above what we've

00:47seen over recent days, maybe 13, 14 degrees across the south and around 9 or 10 degrees

00:52across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Into Wednesday evening, that band of rain

00:57slowly pushes its way towards the south east clearing much of the UK as we head through

01:01the first part of Wednesday evening. Showers then more widely pushing in from the west

01:05overnight and into the start of Thursday but staying a little drier with some clear skies

01:09across the south east of England and parts of eastern Scotland as well staying under

01:13those clear skies and we could see some frost here as well. Temperatures dropping down close

01:17to zero in many parts of Scotland but elsewhere further south generally holding up into the

01:22mid to high single figures. So a bit of a chilly start for some as we start on Thursday

01:26particularly across parts of eastern Scotland but showers widely pushing in from the west

01:30as we go through the day on Thursday. The south east and parts of eastern Scotland and

01:35eastern England always staying the driest with plenty of sunny spells through the afternoon

01:38but those showers across western parts could turn heavy at times and we could even hear

01:42the odd rumble of thunder particularly across parts of Wales and south west England. Quite

01:47blustery in those showers too and definitely feeling a little bit fresher tomorrow. Temperatures

01:50around 10 to 12 degrees across the south and maybe holding up into the single figures

01:55across northern parts. Those unsettled conditions likely to continue through the second half
