00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Pitania.
00:04We've got plenty of fine weather across the bulk of the UK as we go into the afternoon.
00:07A fair bit of cloud around, but some bright spells too, particularly towards the north and north-west.
00:11Just isolated showers towards the far north-east of the UK.
00:14But the focus for the heaviest showers will be across the south and south-east.
00:17A few of those could turn quite heavy, even with the old rumble of thunder in places,
00:21and we could see some localised impacts on the roads with a fair bit of spray, for example.
00:25Temperature-wise, though, not doing too badly at all, where we get the bright spells between those showers.
00:29Peaking around about 16 or 17 Celsius down towards the south-east.
00:3217 is 63 in Fahrenheit.
00:35Nearer average towards the north and north-west at 8 to 11 degrees.
00:38As we go into the evening and into the overnight period, the showers across the south-east will only slowly ease.
00:43Still a few heavy, even thundery ones around for a time this evening,
00:46but they will tend to die away as we go into the early hours,
00:49leaving a fair bit of low cloud as we go into the morning on Monday, with some hill fog in places.
00:54Clearer skies, though, towards the north and north-west, and it's here we'll see the lowest temperatures.
00:58Low enough for a fairly widespread rural frost, with temperatures certainly in some rural spots down to minus 3,
01:03even minus 4 Celsius in one or two places by the morning on Monday.
01:06Holding up, though, nearer to 7 to 9 degrees, and then generally frost-free across the south and south-east.
01:12So, on Monday, the low cloud across the south and south-east of the UK will gradually lift as we go through the morning,
01:17leaving a lot of fine weather across the UK on Monday, plenty of sunshine around,
01:21and notice, though, towards the north and north-west cloud gradually thickening,
01:25some outbreaks of rain moving in across the north and west of Scotland, eventually into parts of Northern Ireland too.
01:30Fairly breezy conditions are those outbreaks of rain moving, and some of the rain turning quite heavy by the end of the day.
01:36Temperature-wise, we're still above the seasonal average, pretty much UK-wide,
01:40up to 12 or 13 degrees up in the north, up to 14 or 15 Celsius towards the south and south-east.
01:4515 there in London, for example, is 59 in Fahrenheit.
01:49As we go into the evening and through the overnight period, we'll see a north-south split developing across the UK.
01:53Outbreaks of rain working their way in across many northern areas, becoming quite breezy too,
01:57but fairly mild with that wind of rain around.
01:59Whereas towards the south and south-east of the UK, it's a mostly fine night, some clear spells around,
02:03and we could see the odds of a pocket of frost by the morning on Tuesday.
02:07That's pretty much it from me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast
