00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Mark O'Britannia.
00:04The weather is starting to turn more unsettled from the south across the UK now. We're starting
00:07to see cloud increasing from that southerly direction, particularly across the far south
00:10of England this morning with some showers breaking out. Those showers started to turn
00:13quite heavy and thundery through the morning, gradually progressing their way northwards
00:17into parts of the Midlands, eventually also starting to break out across the north of
00:20England into the afternoon. So the best of the early sunshine is likely up towards the
00:24far north and across some western parts of the UK and here we'll hold on to some bright
00:28spells into the afternoon, a few lighter showers, but those showers across the central
00:32slice of the UK could cause some flooding issues in places and we have a warning in
00:36force right through until 9 o'clock this evening. The far south-east after a showery start could
00:40well start to brighten up and here it will turn very warm and very humid, temperatures
00:44peaking at 27C, 81F across the far south-east in the London area there. A little bit cooler
00:49towards the north and west at nearer 18 or 19C, but still quite close to the seasonal
00:53average. As we head into the evening on Sunday, the
00:57showers across that central slice of the UK start to progress their way northwards, eventually
01:01reaching the east of Scotland into the overnight period. Notice out towards the west and far
01:05south-west another band of rain also starting to progress across Northern Ireland, Wales
01:09and the south-west of England, certainly as we head into the early hours of Monday, some
01:13of the rain also turning quite heavy. So it's the central slice there seeing the best of
01:16the clear spells overnight Sunday night into Monday morning and wherever you are it's going
01:20to be quite a warm, quite a humid night to come, temperatures generally holding up in
01:23the low to mid-teens across the north of the UK and the mid to upper teens across the south
01:27and south-east, so particularly across the south I think it's going to be quite an uncomfortable
01:31night for sleeping. As for Monday, well unfortunately low pressure
01:34is in charge, there will be showers continuing out towards the east and north-east for time,
01:38again some of those could be heavy and thundery in nature. In else across western spots that
01:43band of rain gradually working in from the west and it's the far west has eventually
01:46seen some brighter skies, parts of Northern Ireland, the far west of Scotland, the far
01:50west of Wales and into Cornwall into the afternoon. But with that brighter weather it's also turning
01:55a bit fresher, temperatures into the afternoon peaking at 18 on 19 Celsius, we hold on to
01:59some warmth though across the east and south-east, 25 there in Norwich, it's still quite a warm
02:04and quite humid 77 in Fahrenheit. That's pretty much it for me but of course
