00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, a change is on the
00:04way for many of us, with some colder conditions expected as we go in towards the new working
00:09week. Before we get there, we have still got a weather front across much of England and
00:12Wales sinking its way southwards, so southern half of the UK just holding on to some of
00:16that milder air for a time. But further north, with those northerly winds, likely to see
00:20a much colder feel to the start of the new working week. We have got an area of low pressure
00:24just waiting in the wings, bringing some uncertainty as we head through the rest of Sunday and
00:28into start of the Monday. But, back to what we have got out there at the moment. For much
00:32of England and Wales, it will be a cloudy end to the day on Saturday. Outbreaks of rain
00:36slowly pushing their way southwards as we go through the afternoon. But further north,
00:40a bit of a different story. There will be some sunny spells, but also plenty of blustery
00:44showers, particularly across northern and western parts of Scotland. Those showers could
00:48turn to sleet and snow over any high ground as well. With that brisk northerly wind, it
00:53will be feeling quite a chilly day on Saturday for much of Scotland and northern England.
00:58Temperatures not reaching much above 7, 8, perhaps 9 degrees at best. But further south,
01:02those temperatures are a little closer to average, so around 12 or 13 degrees. That
01:07weather front across much of England and Wales continues to slowly push its way southwards
01:11overnight Saturday and into the start of Sunday. And for the northern half of the UK, those
01:15clear spells remaining, but those blustery showers still pushing in from the northwest,
01:19mostly affecting coastal regions across parts of western Scotland, northern England, further
01:24east generally staying a little bit drier with some clear spells. And further south,
01:27as that weather front clears away, we'll see some clear spells across southern parts of
01:30England and Wales as well. Quite a widely chilly night across much of the UK, temperatures
01:35widely in the single figures. And for parts of eastern Scotland and northern England,
01:39quite a widespread frost with those temperatures dropping below zero. So, a widely chilly start
01:44to the day for many of us on Sunday. It will be a bit of a cloudy start to the day for
01:47parts of Northern Ireland, seeing some outbreaks of showery rain pushing in from the northwest,
01:52spreading across parts of north Wales, the Midlands, northern parts of England as we
01:56head towards Sunday afternoon. Southern parts of England, though, perhaps holding on to
01:59a bit more in the way of sunshine, we'll see some sunny spells through the afternoon. And
02:03across northern parts of England and much of Scotland, there will be some sunny spells
02:06between those showers. But those showers will continue to be quite blustery, particularly
02:10across the north and the west. And again, falling as sleet and snow over any high ground.
02:16Still another chilly feel to the day across the northern half of the UK. Those temperatures
02:19still around four or five degrees and probably feeling a little chillier with that brisk
02:23northerly wind. But further south, still just holding on to that milder air, so temperatures
02:28here still around 11 or 12 degrees. Through the rest of Sunday evening, those outbreaks
02:33of showery rain continue to push their way south and eastwards, perhaps turning heavy
02:37over any high ground. And the sleet and snow showers continue to build up over the hills
02:41of Scotland. We could see five to 10 centimetres of snow here. Further south, just holding
02:46on to those clearer spells for a time. Those outbreaks of rain continue to push their way
02:50south and eastwards and then waiting in the wings. We've got this next weather front moving
02:54in. As I mentioned, still bringing us some headaches as there's still a bit of uncertainty
02:58on the exact position of it, depending how far north it is. And that boundary of that
03:01colder air will depend on where we see some sleet and snow through into the start of the
03:05new working week. What we do know is that it will push its way eastwards as we go through
03:10Monday and Tuesday, eventually clearing its way towards the southeast through Tuesday
03:14afternoon. And that'll bring those northerly winds across much of the UK. So it will be
03:18turning colder as we head towards the middle part of the week. But to keep up to date with
