00:00Expect gales tomorrow across the west associated with a heavy band of rain
00:05which will track quickly eastwards. First of all though let's have a look at
00:09Wednesday evening where it's definitely showery outside and those winds will be
00:13strong delivering those showers quickly from the west towards the east. However
00:17notice some clearer skies eastern areas of England even eastern Scotland later
00:21on as this feature moves across western and northern parts of Scotland bringing
00:26again some showery bursts of rain. Towards the end of the night a few
00:30showers for the far north of Northern Ireland but some clearer skies here
00:33before the cloud thickens and always showers across Irish sea coast. Look at
00:37those winds then picking up some strength through the early hours of the
00:39morning and that is when that rain will slowly move in. So through the first part
00:44of the day the rain will cover much of Northern Ireland and in fact there is a
00:48wind warning associated with that rain for Northern Ireland southwest Scotland.
00:52Expect severe gales just for a time certainly could see isolated gusts up to
00:5760-70 miles an hour and a wind and rain warning anywhere from Wales down towards
01:02the southeast of England as well as the southwest and here again gales and some
01:07heavy rain to come. So first of all it's a cold start to the day across central
01:12and eastern areas of Scotland and England even some sunshine. You can see
01:16this rain quickly moving from Northern Ireland towards western Scotland the
01:20Isle of Man, West Wales, the West Country. Heavy bursts of rain expect around half
01:24an hour to an hour's worth of that heavy rain as it moves towards the midlands
01:28central southern England covering much of Scotland through the afternoon and by
01:31the time scores out we'll see it across the home counties East Anglia, eastern
01:35counties of Scotland. So the wind will always be strong strongest in the
01:39morning but then we'll see a return to gales across the northwest later and
01:42those showers already pack in with that strong wind across many western areas.
01:46Temperatures then typically around 10 to 13 degrees Celsius. Things slowly ease
01:51on Friday after a bit of a showery start towards the west we'll see some dry
01:56skies a little sunshine temperatures then again around double figures and
02:00that's all courtesy of a slight ridge of high pressure but notice that activity
02:05continues across the northern and northwestern portion of Scotland. This
02:09ridge then brings some dry skies initially on Saturday to many parts but
02:13then another weather system moves in. It's going to draw up some very warm air
02:17from the south so temperatures will be milder than they have been and that rain
02:21clears down towards the southeast where it could actually just bump along just
02:25for a little bit into Sunday with further showers to follow across the
02:28northwest. So here's your summary for the weekend I'll see you later.
