00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather report from the Met Office.

00:04For many it's a crisp cold autumnal morning with some sunshine, not the case

00:09further south we'll see more clouds and also some outbreaks of rain. If you are

00:13stepping out first thing across Scotland, Northern Ireland or Northern England

00:16it's a cold one. A few showers fringing the western side of Scotland as well as

00:20the far north but some brighter skies further east extending down across much

00:23of Northern England as well as Northern Ireland the far north of Wales. Now we

00:27run into this cloud which will be thick and also some outbreaks of rain which

00:30will be sporadic but the odd heavier pulse can't be ruled out through the

00:34morning particularly across central and southeastern areas. Here temperatures

00:38holding up 12-13 degrees Celsius so a mild start to the day in contrast to the

00:43cold air further north. So through Thursday morning we watch as this band

00:48of rain which will have some ripples of more intense bursts just embedded within

00:52it pushes down towards the southeast. Brighter skies across much of the

00:56northern part of the country anywhere from Northern England northwards but

01:00through the morning into the afternoon this wind will pick up some strength

01:04across the Western Isles, the western fringe of mainland Scotland. Still some

01:08showers which could turn heavy across Shetland and the rain tends to fade away

01:12towards the southeast however because the clouds relatively thick particularly

01:15over the higher ground you could see some patchy drizzle through the

01:18afternoon. Temperatures here only 17, 18, 19 degrees Celsius are notched down and

01:22what we've seen even so much higher than the rest of the country 12 or 13 degrees

01:26Celsius. Now two things happen through Thursday evening first of all this band

01:31of rain it's very narrow will bring some strong winds as it pushes down towards

01:35the northwest of England at the same time cloud and rain approaches the

01:39southwest. Now there's a rain warning anywhere from Wales the Midlands Suffolk

01:43Essex central southern England as well as the West Country from 9 p.m. on

01:47Thursday evening right the way through Friday. The rain will be heavy problems

01:51on the roads as well with some really intense bursts poor visibility with lots

01:55of surface water and that rain pushes up towards the northeast of England

02:00through the latter part of the night. At the same time this band of rain will

02:03lose a lot of its intensity it is going to be a windy spell of weather for

02:07Scotland but this rain will sink down towards the central belt and then fade

02:10away. The rain in the south will remain heavy at times and the risk of some

02:14thunderstorms towards the far south the air remains warm here a little sunshine

02:18coming through during the morning though before this rain pushes down towards the

02:22far southeast. Brighter skies elsewhere but a blustery breeze and look at the

02:26winds relentless across the north and northwest of Scotland and temperatures

02:30here fitting cold 10 11 degrees Celsius still warm in the south that all changes

02:35through the weekend with a ridge of high pressure some showers in the mix

02:38through the weekend but also some sunshine but temperatures a lot lower

02:41across the board. I'll see you later.
