00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning Met Office weather report. Now

00:04through today we're seeing a lot of rain covering about two-thirds of the country

00:09from time to time and also some winds which will pick up to Galeforce across

00:14Irish sea coast. Let's take you through the detail through rush hour and the

00:18school run. Clearer skies and a chilly start for the north-east of Scotland yet

00:22again. A massive rain across Western Scotland, Northern Ireland seeing some

00:26rain which will intensify as the winds pick up. More clouds and some patchy rain

00:30for West Wales, the northern part of England but notice towards the Midlands

00:33south-eastwards in central southern England you'll see some fine conditions.

00:37So through the morning we watch the passage of this rain pushing ever

00:41eastwards and northwards. The winds then pick up some strength, some intense

00:45bursts through the morning into the afternoon as it covers anywhere from

00:48Yorkshire even the North Midlands northwards and then it dries up across

00:52Northern Ireland later but it will be a windy end to the day and hanging on to

00:56the sunshine anywhere from East Anglia down towards the West Country. Now

01:00overnight through Thursday night it could turn a bit drizzly across England

01:03and Wales. The rain eventually becomes confined to Shetland, some strong winds

01:08here as more rain just pushes in across the western side of the country so a bit

01:13of a wet start to the day across the northwest of England, southern and

01:17western parts of Scotland and patchy rain for Northern Ireland, northern part

01:20of Wales. Windy across the far north, a bright start but you'll see some rain here

01:24and then this rain warning kicks in at lunchtime on Friday. Some high rainfall

01:29totals likely across the western side of Scotland through Friday and into

01:33Saturday. Elsewhere it's going to warm up very nicely and it's also going to turn

01:37much brighter with some sunshine. I'll see you later.
