00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday morning forecast. Stepping outside this
00:03morning, watch out, it's going to be very cold. Take extra time on your journey if
00:07you're scraping ice off your windscreens. There could be some slippery surfaces,
00:10particularly where you've seen showers. These showers continue through the
00:13morning. A warning for snow and ice continues across northern and eastern
00:18Scotland, northeast England. Inlands and bright skies, but it will be bitterly
00:21cold. And further southwest, you'll see a bit more in the way of cloud
00:25temperatures slightly higher here, but one or two showers just moving down the
00:28western side. So through Wednesday morning, a cold wind, particularly along
00:33the coast. And again, these showers continue to affect coastal districts.
00:37Across the far north, they'll penetrate inland and again we'll see some more
00:41snow accumulations, particularly over higher ground, but slippery surfaces here.
00:45Brighter skies elsewhere with some sunshine, but again more clouds towards
00:50the southwest through the morning into the afternoon. And we could find more
00:53clouds across central and northern areas of Scotland. The wind continues quite
00:56strong towards the northwest of Scotland and showers continue just to scrape the
01:00eastern side of England. Temperatures then struggling. It's a cold day. Values
01:05coming in around 2 to 4 or 5 degrees Celsius, slightly milder towards the
01:09southwest. That frost returns on Wednesday evening. It's turning much
01:13colder yet again with a widespread severe frost. And again, the risk of snow
01:18and ice. There's warnings out across the northeast of Scotland, eastern Scotland
01:22down towards northeastern England. And again, the risk of ice here into the
01:25early hours of the morning where you do see showers. Showers also pushing in
01:29across the far northwest of Scotland. Elsewhere, it's clear, it's cold, a
01:33widespread frost, but more cloud will nudge in across the far south of
01:37England. And here we could see some outbreaks of rain. If that rain
01:40encounters any cold air, possibility of some snow will keep you posted on that.
01:46But certainly, there'll be more cloud here. Elsewhere, brighter skies towards
01:50the west on Thursday with some sunny spells. And yet again, that relentless
01:54wind coming in from the northeast, keeping things very cold. Inland, a
01:58lighter breeze, but a few showers again grazing the eastern side of the country.
02:02Temperatures 2 to 4 or 5 degrees Celsius. So wherever you are, it's time to wrap up
02:07warm and I'll see you again soon.
