00:00Hello there. Now Thursday will be windy for many, bright for some as rain arrives
00:05across more western areas through the afternoon. For the time being, Wednesday
00:09evening, we still have storm Agnes. So strong winds, gale force winds, some
00:14damaging gusts, particularly across the North Channel through evening time and
00:17then the winds will pick up to gale force across more northeastern areas of
00:20Scotland through into the early hours of Thursday morning. Windy wherever you are
00:25and also some outbreaks of rain and then a quieter spell, perhaps still windy, but
00:29some dry weather before this system moved in across Scotland and Northern
00:32Ireland on Thursday and this area of low pressure, which is quite small, but it
00:37will skirt across England and Wales into the early hours of Friday morning.
00:41Backtrack to Wednesday evening then, look at this, a massive cloud and also gale
00:45force winds. High waves associated with it across the North Channel as well as
00:49Irish sea coast. A massive rain moving ever northwards, expect surface water
00:54issues. There's rain warnings across southwest Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:57central parts of Scotland and that broad yellow warning you saw earlier.
01:00But everything is moving its way northwards, so despite the fact it's a
01:04wet and windy night, you'll see some drier conditions come in across Wales
01:08through the evening and overnight. Patchy rain across Pennine districts and a
01:12little rain associated more clouds across Northern Ireland. Heaviest rain
01:16central and northern areas of Scotland, the Northern Isles seeing those gales
01:19and some intense bursts into Thursday morning. Temperatures holding up
01:24wherever you are and in fact, through the first part of Thursday, we'll see
01:27some brighter skies. The cloud is fairly broken across England and Wales. Pennine
01:32districts still rather drizzly and also for the Western Highlands and the
01:37Southern Uplands, you'll see more cloud and some patchy rain and drizzle. But
01:40some brighter weather to start the day on Thursday for Northern Ireland, make
01:44the most of it. You can see this rain moving in here as the winds pick up some
01:47strength. Now, so through the morning into the afternoon, the cloud remains broken
01:51across many areas. You'll see some sunshine across eastern Scotland, even
01:55border regions. Some high clouds extending from the south, making the
01:59sunshine rather hazy as this wet weather moves in across Northern Ireland and
02:03western Scotland through the afternoon. The winds will be stronger across
02:07northwest Scotland than Wednesday, but certainly some wet weather on its way
02:11here. Elsewhere, some brighter skies to end the day. Certainly, you'll see some
02:16sunshine as temperatures rise around 16 to 19 degrees Celsius, but notice
02:20towards the southwest, this little feature here bringing with it some
02:23outbreaks of rain through Thursday evening and overnight, skirting the West
02:28Country, Wales moving up towards Cheshire, Liverpool Bay and then moving
02:32towards the Midlands as we head through into mid evening and overnight. At the
02:36same time, this batch of rain arrives across Glasgow, Belfast, pushes ever
02:40northwards and eastwards. Showers will follow across western Scotland. Girl
02:45force winds here and even one or two showers clipping the far north of
02:48Northern Ireland. England and Wales, well, temperatures will hold up with the
02:51breeze, but also clouds and some showery bursts of rain. But notice it is trying
02:55to clear from northern counties of England as well as Wales. Temperatures
03:00then around 11 to 14 degrees Celsius. But these showers here will be a feature
03:04of the weather across the north and the west of Scotland on Friday, with the
03:07risk of thunder. At the same time, through Friday morning, this cloud and
03:11showery rain clears towards the North Sea and then the sun will come out. So
03:15some brighter weather through Friday and you'll notice the winds will
03:19gradually ease across the south. Not the case across the north and the west, still
03:23very windy here with gales, but just a strong wind across eastern counties of
03:28Scotland which could turn rather gusty and some gustiness also over the
03:32Pennines as well. But some brighter weather to end the working week as
03:36temperatures rise around 19 to 21 degrees Celsius. Here's your outlook into
03:40the weekend. A ridge of high pressure brings some chilly conditions on
03:44Saturday morning. Fine for many through the day with some sunshine and then more
03:48rain into Saturday night into Sunday when it eventually will clear. Stay tuned
03:53to all our forecasts and we'll keep you updated. I'll see you later.
