00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It was a cold and frosty
00:04start for many of us this morning, with some wintry showers along some western coasts into
00:08this afternoon. These brought about by those occlusion features across parts of western
00:12Scotland, north-west England, into Wales and south-west England too, but low pressure on
00:17the way out towards the south-west through the rest of the weekend and into the start
00:20of next week. Back to the here and now though, and those showers across western parts bringing
00:25some quite heavy snowfall to parts of north-west England, with some travel disruption through
00:29this afternoon and into this evening, likely. Further showers pushing in from the west,
00:34turning to snow across parts of Wales and north-west England as well, with perhaps up
00:37to 10cm of snow across the Pennines through Sunday morning. Another cold night for most
00:42of us, turning icy across parts of central England and parts of Wales as well, but perhaps
00:47as low as minus 8 to minus 10 across parts of Scotland. A much milder start across the
00:52south-west of England though, with plenty of cloud and showers around, those showers
00:55pushing up from the south-west as we go through Sunday morning. These are likely to turn quite
01:00heavy at times, particularly across the south-west parts of Wales as well, and will continue
01:04to fall as snow across any high ground. Scotland definitely seeing the best of the sunshine
01:09through Sunday though, but definitely feeling cold despite that sunshine. Some places definitely
01:14staying below zero, but perhaps around the low single figures for most of us. A much
01:18milder day across the south-west though, 8 to 10 degrees, but some strong winds coming
01:22up from the south-west just taking a notch off those temperatures. As we go through Sunday
01:27evening, further rain pushes up from the south-west, turning quite heavy across southern parts of
01:32England into south Wales as well into the start of Monday morning. Likely to bring some
01:37hill snow again to parts of Wales and into north-west England as well through Monday
01:40morning, where there could be some travel disruption during the morning rush hour. Another
01:45dry and clear night across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland as well, so another
01:48chilly night here, perhaps some mist and freezing fog around, and temperatures down to minus
01:52five or minus six across parts of Scotland. That rain, sleet and hill snow across the
01:58southern half of the UK gradually clears its way south and eastwards through Monday, with
02:02the best of the sunshine and the driest weather across the north. Despite a milder start to
02:07the week across the southern half of the UK, the cold weather returns on Tuesday and Wednesday,
02:11but you can find out more about that on our social media channels and check out our YouTube
02:15channel for the latest weather updates. Bye bye.
