00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It was another cold and

00:04frosty start across Scotland and Northern Ireland this morning, but a bit of a change

00:08is on the way across the southern half of the UK. Rain and cloud continue to push in

00:12from the south-west, perhaps turning quite heavy at times across parts of Devon and Cornwall

00:16this afternoon, and continuing to turn to hill snow across parts of Wales, the Midlands

00:20and into northern parts of England through this afternoon. The best of the sunshine definitely

00:24across parts of Scotland, but still feeling cold despite that sunshine. Temperatures

00:27widely in the low single figures, perhaps even staying below freezing across parts

00:31of northern Scotland this afternoon. A much milder end to the day though across the southern

00:35half of the UK as another band of rain pushes up from the south-west overnight tonight and

00:40into the start of Monday. This likely to bring some quite heavy rainfall across parts of

00:44Devon, Cornwall and into parts of south Wales as well, and likely to turn to hill snow across

00:49northern parts of Wales, the Midlands and into northern parts of England through Monday

00:52morning. A drier and colder night again across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland where

00:56we could see a risk of ice, particularly where there's any showers into the start of

00:59Monday. And under those clear skies, another cold night, widely temperatures dropping below

01:04freezing, perhaps as low as minus 5 or minus 6 across parts of Scotland. It'll be a milder

01:09start though across the south-west, particularly under all that cloud and rain. Those rainfall

01:13totals continue to build up through the morning, perhaps bringing some travel disruption during

01:17the morning rush hour. Hill snow continues across parts of Wales and into parts of northern

01:21England as well through the morning, perhaps up to 10cm across the Pennines, but it's another

01:26dry and bright day across Northern Ireland. Western Scotland definitely seeing the best

01:29of the sunshine. Perhaps just a touch milder here, still temperatures in the low single

01:33figures, but a milder day again across the south-west, although with strong winds and

01:37that cloud and rain, definitely not feeling too warm. As we go through Monday evening,

01:42rain, cloud, hill, snow and sleet gradually clears its way south and eastwards through

01:47Monday evening and into the start of Tuesday, leaving Tuesday a little bit drier and brighter

01:52for most of us. Wednesday also looking dry at the moment, but further wet and windy weather
