00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been a bit
00:04of a chillier start for some of us this morning, particularly compared to what we saw over
00:08the weekend, thanks to northerly winds across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern
00:12parts of England. Plenty of showers around too to start the morning, these readily turning
00:16to sleet and snow over the hills of Scotland. A bit of a cloudier start across northern
00:20parts of England, some outbreaks of showery rain continue to sink their way southwards
00:24as we go towards the afternoon. But for northern parts of England through the afternoon, Northern
00:28Ireland, Wales, South West England, plenty of sunshine and blue skies on offer but with
00:32northerly winds feeling much chillier than we saw over the weekend. Only 9 or 10 degrees
00:37in the south and only 5 or 6 further north and along eastern coasts with that really
00:41brisk northerly wind, it'll be feeling much colder than that still. As we then go through
00:46Monday evening, we'll see those outbreaks of showery rain across the very far south
00:50east continue to sink their way offshore, leaving a drier night for most of us, plenty
00:54of clear spells around, perhaps one or two showers just pushing onshore along some eastern
00:58coast with that brisk wind. But for many of us, it will be a dry night to come and with
01:01those clear spells and with light winds, we could see some mist and fog in places. But
01:06it will be quite a chilly night too, quite a widespread frost across the UK, widely dropping
01:11below zero across the northern half of the UK and in the south, still dropping here to
01:14around 2 or 3 degrees. So a really chilly start to the day on Tuesday morning, perhaps
01:19some mist and fog in places that could be a little slow to clear but it will clear eventually.
01:23And in the west, turning increasingly cloudy as we go through the morning, we've got this
01:26area of rain pushing in, pushing its way eastwards as we go towards the afternoon. Likely falling
01:31as rain for the southern half of the UK but on that leading edge as it bumps into that
01:35colder air, we could see some sleet and snow over the hills through Tuesday afternoon.
01:40Still feeling quite chilly on Tuesday, temperatures widely in the mid to high single figures but
01:44in the southwest, perhaps just turning that little bit milder as we see that rain and
01:48cloud moving its way eastwards. As we then go through the rest of the week, that weatherfront
01:52pushes its way eastwards through the rest of Tuesday and into the start of Wednesday.
01:56We then see a very brief ridge of high pressure developing through Wednesday daytime before
02:01another area of low pressure and multiple areas of low pressure arrive from the west
02:05through the second half of the week, drawing up some milder air from the southwest and
02:08turning wet and windy and really quite unsettled through the second half of the week. To find
02:13out more about that though, do make sure you hit subscribe on our YouTube channel to make
