00:00Hello, the sun will shine for many of us through this afternoon and into Saturday as well.
00:06We're in for some crisp autumn sunshine, but that has come at the expense of some colder
00:11air, so it's feeling much chillier out there for many of us, particularly in the wind along
00:16the east coast. But after a cloudier start in the west, as well as the far north of Scotland,
00:21the sun will shine, as I said, and any showers will tend to fade away. Now, these are the
00:27daytime maximum temperatures for this afternoon, but let's take a closer look at how it'll
00:31really feel, particularly with that wind. So you can see the temperatures have dropped
00:34off, particularly as we're closer to the north and east, where those stronger winds are feeling
00:39much closer to zero, if not sub-zero on some of the north eastern coasts. Through this
00:45evening, that chilly feel is really going to ramp up as a harsh frost is expected. Temperatures
00:50will drop quite quickly this evening. All the while, across the east, it will stay breezy,
00:55though the winds tend to ease a little bit, and with a bit more cloud around here, that
01:00will hold up the temperatures somewhat through the night. But it's particularly this north
01:04western area, parts of southern Scotland and north western England, where the temperatures
01:09will really drop. Now, if we take a closer look at the picture for the morning, you can
01:13see those deep blues marking the harsh frost, minus five, possibly as low as minus seven
01:18across north western England, and in the south, minus four in rural areas of Wales. So a crisp
01:24but sunny start to the weekend for many areas. Still a little cloudier across the east coast,
01:30and showers will come and go across parts of Norfolk, as well as northern Scotland.
01:36But many of us will see a very sunny Saturday, and it will warm up somewhat, particularly
01:42in the west, by the afternoon. So temperatures climbing up to around eight or nine degrees
01:47at most. But where we see that very cold start across northern England, southern Scotland,
01:52it will feel quite chilly through much of the day. Then through Saturday evening, it
01:57will be another cold end to the day, a frost forming a bit more across eastern areas. But
02:03it's into the west we start to see the cloud thickening ahead of this band of rain. Now,
02:08that's a front that's going to be pushing eastwards throughout Sunday, bringing a spell
02:12of rain to parts of England and into the southeast, lingering into Monday, staying dry across
02:18northern areas, though. So a bit of a change through the weekend. So make sure you keep
