00:00Good afternoon and festive greetings from the Met Office. Boxing Day is shaping up to
00:05be quite a cloudy day for most of us, though there will be some brighter weather arriving
00:09in the southwest throughout this afternoon. But there'll be some further rain as well
00:13because we've got fronts lying over particularly northern areas of the country throughout the
00:17rest of Sunday and into Monday we'll see further fronts but milder air push in from the southwest
00:24for the start of the new week. But for now that front's lying over much of northern and
00:28southeastern England with a snow warning in force until lunchtime. So snow will generally
00:33be falling over high ground of southern Scotland throughout Boxing Day, turning drier and brighter
00:39further south and west of that with some sunshine and not feeling too bad in that sunshine highs
00:44of 11 or 12 degrees in the southwest. Further north though still feeling quite chilly especially
00:50under all that cloud, rain and hill snow and for the rest of the country overnight we'll
00:54see a cloudy night, bit milder than last night, generally frost free for most of us
00:59apart from the far north, but further rain will arrive in the far southwest by the early
01:05hours of Monday. And throughout Monday morning we'll see that rain spread further north and
01:11east, so a cloudy start but outbreaks of rain soon arriving to southern and central areas.
01:16Further north of that a cloudy start, some bright spells by lunchtime, feeling a little
01:21bit warmer in that sunshine but mostly cloudy and temperatures ranging from 5 to 12 degrees
01:28in the far southwest again. In the run up to New Year we'll see those milder temperatures
01:33become even milder and more widespread, though it will turn windy for many with further rain
01:39at times. There's plenty more details on our website. Thank you very much and have a lovely day.
