00:00Welcome to your latest national weather update from the Met Office. High pressure is very

00:05much in charge for the next few days bringing many a continued settled spell but it will

00:10turn cooler as the winds around that high pressure pull around clockwise dragging in

00:16this cool air from the Arctic over the UK for the next few days. That cool air comes

00:21with a northerly breeze and that northerly breeze is going to be strengthening through

00:25Thursday night dragging in showers across North Scotland and also across parts of the

00:30North East Coast as well as North Wales and parts of the South West as well. Elsewhere

00:36away from these coastal areas it will be a dry night with plenty of clear spells and

00:40for all of us it is going to be a chillier night than recently widely dipping down into

00:45single figures we could see a touch of grass frost across more North Western parts. So

00:51be a chilly but quite sunny start for most of us on Friday however that northerly breeze

00:57will continue to strengthen down through the North Sea continuing to push those showers

01:02into parts of Yorkshire Norfolk parts of the far South East could see the odd shower drift

01:07past from time to time as well through Friday afternoon. The showers could turn a little

01:12bit heavier across the far South East as well. Now despite the sunshine continuing for many

01:17of us into Friday afternoon it's going to feel cool out there temperatures not quite

01:23reaching 20 degrees and that cool theme will continue again on Friday night so widely dipping

01:29down into single figures but it will be another dry night for most of us. However it will

01:35stay windy across that North East Coast and showers could clip eastern areas from time

01:41to time. So notice the temperatures were down in single figures across the board apart from

01:46perhaps the far North Western areas so you'll need an extra layer if you are planning on

01:51being outside late on Friday night. That dry and cooler theme will continue for the rest
