15 September - National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.

00:00Hello. Dry and fairly cloudy sums up the weather for most today. We will see a bit of blue
00:06sky but we will also see one or two showers. High pressure is trying to move in and as
00:12it bumps up against this large area of low pressure across Scandinavia, creating a bit
00:16of a squeeze in the isobars and that is generating a northerly wind which is going to strengthen
00:22and bring more of a chill over the next couple of days. And also, it's continuing to feed
00:27in showers particularly across northern parts of Scotland but some getting into Northern
00:31Ireland too and the odd one even for North Wales and down into Norfolk. Most places though
00:36across England and Wales staying dry and not too many showers through the central belt
00:40and across southern Scotland and we will see some sunny spots at times across Northern
00:43Ireland. Quite a lot of cloud around but some breaks in that cloud revealing a bit of blue
00:47sky especially close to coasts. When the showers come along though across northern Scotland
00:52with that gusty wind. Feeling pretty chilly here, just 12 or 13 Celsius and elsewhere
00:57it's fresher, less humid than it was earlier in the week and temperatures mostly only in
01:01the high teens at best. As we go through tonight, it's going to turn quite cold again. That
01:07northerly wind will strengthen bringing more showers across northern Scotland and they
01:11will be through the day at times. They will be on the heavy side and we will see more
01:15of those showers just drifting down the east coast of England as well through the early
01:19hours. One or two again for North Wales and maybe one or two getting into Cornwall through
01:23the night. But for most it will be dry and clear and it will be quite chilly. Temperatures
01:29down into single figures. Something to bear in mind if you're heading to London for the
01:33crowds gathering here. It is going to be quite a cold start on Friday morning. A chilly but
01:38bright start then for the vast majority. Plenty of sunshine around. Maybe one or two showers
01:43for North Wales and Cornwall. They should tend to fade but these showers are down the
01:47eastern coastal strip of England. I think they'll keep going through the day as they
01:50will across northeastern Scotland with that really quite brisk wind. That is going to
01:55make it feel cold throughout Friday. Elsewhere with lighter winds and perhaps a bit more
02:01sunshine on Friday compared to Thursday, temperatures will still get into the mids or perhaps high
02:06teens across the south. But generally again a fresher feel and certainly it will feel
02:11cold on the east coast as the feels like temperatures. When you add on that wind parts of that east
02:16coast will feel like temperatures are only in single figures even through the afternoon.
02:21And a few more of those heavy showers will keep going down the east coast of England
02:25into Norfolk, perhaps even parts of Suffolk well into Friday evening. Elsewhere again
02:30most places dry. The wind starting to ease for many central and western parts and with
02:34clear skies even colder as we head into Saturday morning. Some pockets of frost possible in
02:39rural areas under that influence of high pressure. The high finally winds out pushing the low
02:44away which means the winds will slowly start to ease in the east through the weekend and
02:49that high pressure will bring a lot of dry weather and fine weather. Albeit probably
02:54with increasing cloud after Saturday. A full weekend forecast available on our YouTube
02:59channels by Thursday afternoon.
