00:00Hello, welcome along to your latest update from the Met Office. For many today, it's
00:04dry and bright out there, fine conditions with a bit of sunshine. But in the West, things
00:09are changing, cloud increasing and we are going to see some outbreaks of rain coming
00:13in. And for many, there'll be some wet weather around during this evening. The remnants of
00:18Storm Barra are clearing away out into northern portions of the North Sea. Next, weather front
00:24is moving in, not as intense in terms of its wind strength, but this line of cloud and
00:29rain will continue to trickle across Northern Ireland into Western Scotland this afternoon,
00:33turning damp across Wales and southwest England as well. And the breeze will be picking up
00:37in the southwest. For many eastern areas, as I said, dry and bright with some wintry
00:42sunshine out there. Temperatures struggling a little bit, but the winds are fairly light
00:47across the east, certainly lighter than they have been through this week and generally
00:51just getting up to around about six, seven degrees. But further west as the wet weather
00:55arrives, also milder conditions, although we're not feeling all that milder with the
00:59rain and the winds. Now, the rain is going to pep up this evening. It'll intensify a
01:03little bit over the Midlands, northern England, but also across East Anglia in the southeast.
01:07Some heavy rain is likely through this evening before that scoots away during the early hours.
01:12The rain clearing away from Scotland and the sky is clear here and things turn quite cold
01:17with a touch of frost. There's just the possibility of things being a little bit icy for Friday
01:21morning across Scotland. Showers will come into Wales, northwest England as well through
01:26the early hours and temperatures mostly holding a touch above freezing. But as I said, some
01:31frost is likely, certainly rural parts of northern England and across a good part of
01:34Scotland. Friday's a bit of a mixed picture with sunshine for many eastern areas, albeit
01:41with a fairly cold start. Some sunny skies across the south, but we will see showers
01:45feeding into northwest England throughout the day across Wales as well and some down
01:49into the Midlands. Southwest Scotland, Northern Ireland also having a mixture of bright spells,
01:53but also fairly frequent showers blown in by a fairly stiff and chilly wind. Temperatures
01:58will be around about average for the time of year, but it will feel colder with that
02:02wind. But as I said, much of the eastern side of England, much of the south will be dry
02:07and fine for most of the day. That breeze will continue to ease down during Friday evening.
02:12A few showers will keep going around Irish Sea coast into parts of northwest England's
02:17north Midlands and across Wales, but elsewhere, again, becoming largely dry. Behind me, there
02:22is another line of rain that is another weather front that will come in during the course
02:27of the weekend. Ahead of that, we are going to start pretty cold. So the cold air is in
02:31place through Friday and Friday night. But as these weather fronts move in during the
02:35weekends, they'll do a couple of things. They'll bring cloud and some rain at times, but they
02:40will also be introducing milder air. So by the time we get to Sunday, it is quite a bit
02:45milder, but more weather fronts promise further outbreaks of rain in places. So it's a bit
02:50of a mixed picture this weekend, a cold start turning milder. There will be some rain around
02:54as well. Full details, a full weekend forecast will be available on our YouTube channel by
02:59Thursday afternoon. So subscribe to our YouTube channel and then you'll never miss an update.
