00:00Welcome to your national weather updates. The weather kind of splits into three at the
00:05moment with weather fronts slowly pushing south, bringing a lot of cloud and some outbreaks
00:10of rain. To the south, still really quite warm air, but behind this cold front, fresher
00:14conditions for Scotland and Northern Ireland. But apart from a few showers, many places
00:18here dry and bright, certainly through the central belt, much of Northern Ireland, a
00:22fine and sunny Monday afternoon. Some showers coming in across Northern Scotland, the central
00:27zone through Northern England, down into the Midlands and across North Wales. We've
00:31seen some heavy bursts of rain and we'll continue to see some in places. One or two showers
00:35over the Midlands and southwest England, but much of the south staying dry and bright and
00:40really quite warm. A bit of sunshine, likely to see temperatures getting into the mid-twenties.
00:45Cooler conditions, as I said, further north behind that weather front, but still plenty
00:49of sunshine. Showers will keep coming into North East Scotland through the night. We'll
00:53see a bit of rain moving across the East Midlands and East Anglia this evening, but
00:57that should be out of the way by midnight. And then many places having a dry night. We'll
01:01keep a lot of cloud across the south with these clearer skies and the cooler air across
01:06much of Northern England, North Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be a fresh start
01:11to Tuesday with temperatures, certainly rural areas down into single figures. It'll be quite
01:15a warm and humid night once more across the south. We'll have a lot of cloud here again
01:20on Tuesday and we may see one or two showers, most likely, I think, late in the day, a possibility
01:26of one or two thunderstorms even. But for the vast majority, it's a fine day on Tuesday,
01:32dry and bright with some good spells of sunshine. We'll lose the showers across northern Scotland,
01:36maybe one or two keeping going in Shetland. But I say a few more showers developing through
01:41the day, especially across parts of southern England and south Wales, which could be on
01:45the heavy side. Temperatures, well, still got the warm air across the south. So even
01:49where it's cloudy here, 22, 23 degrees further north, we're only looking at 19 or 20 Celsius.
01:54That'll feel pretty pleasant there with the September sunshine. And then during Tuesday
01:59evening, keeping our eyes across the south because that rain could start to pep up, could
02:03see some quite heavy bursts of rain through Tuesday night and into Wednesday. And it's
02:07slow moving as well. So just the potential that could cause a few issues, something we
02:11need to keep a close eye on. Otherwise, generally staying dry and fine. High pressure is trying
02:16to topple in. As it does so, the winds will be coming down from the north, bringing a
02:21fresher feel. A few showers in the east coast where it will be quite gusty come the end
02:25of the week. But under high pressure at most places looking largely dry from Wednesday
02:30onwards. More details on that with our week ahead forecast on YouTube. That'll be available
02:34on Monday afternoon.
