00:00Hello again and welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office. There's plenty of dry weather on offer this weekend, albeit quite cloudy in many areas at times, and whilst there'll be some patchy rain in places, where we see any sunshine, it will still be feeling quite warm.
00:14The bigger picture though shows this intense heatwave occurring still across southern parts of Europe. Record-breaking temperatures are possible this weekend across Spain and Portugal.
00:22Meanwhile across the UK, it's much more changeable and cooler, with this run of north-westerly winds continuing through this week and some weak weather fronts bringing some showers or rain at times, but settled conditions possible later in the week.
00:36Back to the ceiling though, and the cloud is thickest with some outbreaks of rain across northern England and parts of Wales. This patchy rain is fringing into Northern Ireland as well later in the night.
00:45Elsewhere, quite a bit of cloud in the sky overall, but where we see any clear skies for longest, particularly for central and southern parts of Scotland, temperatures could actually fall down into the mid-single figures, so quite chilly for some here, but elsewhere relatively mild overnight.
01:00Quite a cloudy start to Sunday morning though, with some outbreaks of patchy rain across northern England and parts of Northern Ireland. Skies brightening elsewhere, with one or two showers, particularly for Wales and the south-west, and also some showers still across northern parts of Scotland.
01:13But where we see the decent spells of sunshine, once again it will be feeling quite warm. Highs of 23 to 24 degrees quite widely in eastern areas, so feeling quite warm here.
01:23Through Sunday evening though, still a few showers continuing across parts of England and Wales. Also some showers across northern Scotland, one or two heavier ones here, but a few sunny spells for some places as we end the day on Sunday.
01:37Next week, mostly dry conditions, with some sunshine around on Monday. There will be some rain or showers at times through Tuesday and Wednesday, but overall quite a cool feel for August, with that run of north-westerly winds continuing.
