00:00Hi there, following a week of sunshine and heat we're now seeing a thundery
00:05breakdown but as is always the case with thunderstorms they will be very hit and
00:08miss over the next few days and some places will avoid the most intense
00:13rainfall. Low pressure has replaced high pressure and as a result cloudier, cooler
00:17weather is on its way for many parts of the UK. It's already arrived in the north
00:20and the west and we've seen some heavy showers across parts of Scotland earlier
00:24in the day. That turns to more general rain for central and later eastern
00:27Scotland, outbreaks of rain or showers elsewhere and as temperatures rise
00:32through the afternoon chance of some fairly intense downpours just about
00:37anywhere likely to see them but a signal there for southwest England particularly
00:42for central parts of southeast England. Parts of mid Wales and into northern
00:46England over the Pennines for example could see some pretty lively showers
00:51and thunderstorms but still many places avoiding them especially towards the
00:55southeast where temperatures will once again reach the low 30s, much cooler and
01:00fresher further north and west and the rain continues across central and eastern
01:05Scotland overnight with some heavy bursts at times perhaps even a few more
01:10rumbles of thunder with further showers migrating from northern England to join
01:15in as well and a yellow rain warning there in force because of that wet
01:19weather continuing overnight 20-30 millimetres of additional rain. A keen
01:23breeze in the northeast but elsewhere lighter winds and a lot of cloud cover
01:28remaining through the night, a mild night for many 15 to 18 Celsius. Further
01:33showers turn up across South Wales and the southwest of England through the
01:37early hours and some wet weather here first thing if you're caught in one of
01:41these showers it will be heavy and then showers develop fairly widely, more
01:46widely I think, across England and Wales compared with Monday. Again these showers
01:51and thunderstorms will be hit and miss but where they do occur that heavy rain
01:54falling onto dry ground could lead to the risk of flash flooding so a
01:59thunderstorm warning in force over the next couple of days. Still hot and humid
02:04towards the southeast mid to high 20s, much fresher for Scotland and Northern
02:08Ireland where the early rain eases away, drier brighter weather on the way with
02:13some sunny spells coming through in the far north and northwest otherwise for
02:17many it's a grey day with those outbreaks of rain, showers and
02:21thunderstorms continuing into the evening. The focus for the middle of the
02:25week is for showers and thunderstorms to continue in the south, drier towards the
02:30northwest and then more rain on the way later in the week from the west and a
02:36lot of cloud with cooler weather as well.
