00:00Hello again. It's turned increasingly cloudy across most of the UK during the day and we

00:05keep most of those clouds overnight. There will be a few cloud breaks here and there,

00:10particularly as the warm front which we can just make out on this area of light rain clearing

00:14south eastwards pushes away. So a few breaks for the Midlands, East Anglia and the South

00:19East later on. Brisk breeze keeps it mild here whilst heavy rain pushes south across

00:24Scotland, Northern Ireland and into Northern England and it stays damp in this zone. So

00:29with all the cloud and the breeze temperatures staying up 8-10 Celsius in the south but north

00:35of the Central Belt, having seen that rain go through earlier, starts the day Tuesday

00:40brighter. A touch of frost possible in some sheltered parts of north east Scotland, otherwise

00:46enough of a breeze to keep things stirred up for central and northern Scotland. But

00:50a blustery start to Tuesday here, showers coming through, sleet and hail for the Northern

00:55Isles and the higher parts of mainland Scotland. And further south, this area of rain associated

01:03with the weather front as it comes south will keep things dull and damp for parts of southern

01:08Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England. South again and we do see some sunshine

01:13across the Midlands, East Anglia and the South East and where we see the sun coming through,

01:18temperatures could pop up to 13 or even 14 Celsius. The south westerly breeze bringing

01:22mild air in here but further north feeling colder behind the front across Scotland, Northern

01:28Ireland and eventually parts of Northern England. The rain perhaps up for a time during Tuesday

01:33evening for parts of north west England into north Wales as well as it comes southwards.

01:38Again some breaks in the cloud for the central and southern parts of England and here it's

01:43going to stay mild overnight, 8 or 9 Celsius. Turning colder though behind the front, Northern

01:48England, Northern Ireland, Scotland into the blustery but brighter regime. And further

01:53showers coming through as the isobars tighten on Wednesday across western Scotland and we

01:59drag even colder air in from the north west. Meanwhile you can see the temperature contrast

02:05with the front lingering during Wednesday in the south of England, it stays mild here.

02:10So as we start off Wednesday, some brightness in the far south but it turns increasingly

02:14cloudy as the rain pushes south. The rain tending to be on and off I think, mostly it's

02:19light and patchy and it mostly eases by the afternoon. So many places cloudy but dry in

02:24the south. Skies brighten for north Wales into northern England, perhaps even the north

02:28midlands as well, sunny spells here. Scotland and Northern Ireland staying blustery and

02:34the snow level comes down as temperatures drop away for Scotland. We could even see

02:38some sleet down to lower levels and some snow settling above 200 metres through the day

02:43for central and northern Scotland. Wind touching gale force in the far north west of Scotland

02:48making it feel really quite cold here but it stays mild in the south, 12 Celsius. Now

02:55into Wednesday night we're going to see those winds strengthen even further across the far

03:00north of Scotland and the risk of severe gales for the northern isles. But the rest of the

03:04country turns brighter eventually with some sunshine.
