00:00Hello again, following a cloudy and in some places misty start to the day, brighter skies

00:05are expected during the rest of the day with plenty of warm sunny spells into the afternoon.

00:10A few showers still possible, particularly for parts of northern and western Scotland,

00:15northern Ireland where there will be cloudier skies in general. And then this slice of cloud

00:20tending to lift and break in the east, but still as that cloud lifts it could give a

00:25few light showers. That's the remnants of the wet weather that moved away during the

00:30last 24 hours. Now in between, that's where the best of the sunshine will be, western

00:34parts of England, the Midlands, Wales as well. And that's where the highest temperatures

00:39are to be found, 21 to a possible 23 Celsius, but where we've got the cloudiest skies, high

00:45teens. Now the showers in the northwest will tend to drift east overnight, some heavier

00:51rain possible for a time across northern Scotland. The showers as they arrive into

00:57northern England, parts of Wales, tend to ease by the end of the night. An area of cloud

01:01here, some cloudier skies there for the north of Scotland, patchy cloud elsewhere. But where

01:06we do get some clear spells overnight, fog patches will form and these will be fairly

01:11dense in places by dawn. A cool start to the day on Thursday compared to recent days, particularly

01:17for Scotland and Northern Ireland, where in the countryside we'll see single figures.

01:23So once any mist and fog patches clear away during Thursday morning, again warm sunny

01:28spells for the vast majority. Some showers will develop across central and perhaps southern

01:33parts of England and Wales. Brighter skies for northern England and Scotland as well,

01:38but by the end of the day you can see the cloud thickening across northern Ireland.

01:4215-18 in the northwest, 23, possible 24 in the south where we'll see that sunshine. But

01:50changes on the way for the northwest as we end Thursday. The thicker cloud for Northern

01:55Ireland heralding the start of some breezy and wet weather which will push in for the

01:59end of the day and western Scotland sees that rain arrive during the evening. Clearer skies

02:04elsewhere and this feature to the west, a weather front that is moving in, it's extending.

02:11This area of low pressure is extending and that often means it's slowing down as it arrives

02:15into the west. So it's going to make slow and erratic progress across the country and

02:20what that means is that for much of eastern Scotland, England and Wales, it's a fine start

02:25to Friday. One or two showers possible as we head through the day, but otherwise another

02:31day of generally warm sunny spells. But you can see that wet weather across northern Ireland,

02:35western Scotland extending into parts of west Wales and Cornwall by the end of the day,

02:39the breeze picking up as well and the cloud thicker here. So it will feel cool in the

02:43west as that rain arrives, 17 Celsius. Warmer where we've got the sunny spells elsewhere,

02:49low 20s once again. And it's through the weekend that this weather front makes that uncertain

02:54progress across the country, degenerating into areas of showers rather than prolonged

03:00rainfall and of course we'll keep you updated on the progress of that on social media. Bye
