00:00Hello, it's another day with a mixture of heavy showers and thunderstorms. Low pressure
00:05still controlling the UK's weather. It's been in charge since the start of the week. It
00:11is now slowly moving eastwards. Around that low, a rapt occluded front brings some more
00:16persistent rain and a lot of cloud cover to parts of southern Scotland into northern England,
00:22a keen breeze here as well. But elsewhere, it's more showery as far as the rainfall is
00:28concerned. There will be some lively downpours across central and eastern England, perhaps
00:32some thunderstorms and some hail as well. And with 30 to 50 millimetres in one or two
00:37spots in a short space of time, there's a risk of disruption, so a yellow thunderstorm
00:41warning in force. Now, with the showers around, it's good to feel on the cool side, but for
00:47northern Scotland, I think it's mostly a dry day and there will be some sunshine coming
00:52through in the far north-west. As we head into the evening, the outbreaks of rain across
00:58southern Scotland and northern England begin to ease. The showers and thunderstorms in
01:03the east of England also move away, but there will be further showers affecting parts of
01:07Wales and the south-west through the night, and a large amount of cloud into eastern Scotland,
01:12much of northern and central England, as well as Wales. Where we've got the cloud, 12 to
01:1615 Celsius, but where we've got clear skies for northern Ireland, as well as northern
01:21and western Scotland, temperatures will dip into the single figures, and in some places,
01:254 to 6 Celsius, so a cool start to Saturday and some mist and fog patches first thing,
01:31especially for north-west Scotland and parts of northern Ireland. They'll last until around
01:368 or 9am, replaced by sunny spells then, and for northern Ireland and Scotland, it's mostly
01:42a dry day with sunny spells, but for northern England, a lot of low cloud remains, along
01:47with some outbreaks of rain, tending to turn to showers later, and scattered showers will
01:53break out across the rest of England, as well as Wales, but there'll be fewer showers around
01:57compared with recent days, and there'll be some sunny spells in between. Temperatures
02:02up to 22 Celsius in the south, 18 to 20 Celsius further north. Into Saturday evening, the
02:09showers across central areas start to disappear, but there'll also be clear spells breaking
02:14out fairly widely, and with light winds and clear skies, temperatures will fall off, so
02:21it looks like a cool night for many places on Saturday night, and there'll certainly
02:25be some mist and fog about first thing Sunday, but Sunday starts off dry for many, before
02:30some rain arrives into northern Ireland and western Scotland by the afternoon.
