13 September - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hello again. There is some wet weather in the mix for Monday, but eastern areas are most likely to hold on to those mainly dry conditions.
00:08Some areas may even see some brightness with sunny spells developing.
00:12So we have high pressure building from the north and west, and during the course of Monday that high pressure will move eastwards into the North Sea.
00:20Further south we have a complex system of fronts bringing outbreaks of rain and cloud to the south.
00:27So this evening that rain will continue to edge in from the west.
00:31That rain locally heavy, particularly across parts of the west country by dawn.
00:36Elsewhere rather cloudy, although clear skies across parts of Scotland.
00:41Temperatures overnight generally in double figures for areas stuck under that cloud.
00:46Although the very far north may see temperatures dip into single figures, with overnight lows there of about 5 degrees.
00:55So tomorrow morning, rather cloudy across many parts of England and Wales, and the area of rain over the west country will continue to edge ever so slightly eastwards, breaking up as it moves.
01:07Further north, largely dry with some decent breaks in the cloud developing, allowing temperatures to rise quite nicely during the afternoon in a few spots.
01:18Temperatures generally around average, although where that sun does break through we may see temperatures as high as 20 or 21 degrees.
01:27So Monday afternoon continues largely cloudy across many parts of England and Wales.
01:34With that rain across the west continuing to move east and north during the course of the afternoon and evening.
01:41That rain breaking up and becoming increasingly showery as it moves.
01:46Elsewhere a few brighter spells, clear skies developing across the very far north.
01:53Now the outlook is a bit of a mixed bag with a misty start on Tuesday with high pressure building in for midweek.
01:59Although it's downhill at the end of the week.
