00:00Hello there and welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office. There's plenty of dry weather on offer this weekend, albeit quite cloudy in many areas at times, and whilst there will be some patchy rain in places where we see any sunshine, it will be feeling quite warm.
00:15Looking at the bigger picture though, we've got an intense heatwave still occurring across many parts of the Mediterranean and southern parts of Europe with record-breaking temperatures possible across parts of Spain and Portugal this weekend.
00:26More changeable conditions across the UK though, and into next week we continue to see those changeable conditions, some rain or showers at times, particularly in the east, but drier conditions by midweek further west.
00:37Back to this afternoon, and there's some patchy rain working its way northwards across Wales, eventually into the Midlands and parts of northern England, showers across northern and eastern parts of Scotland, but elsewhere some brightness, with the best of the sunshine probably across southern counties of England, and here we'll see temperatures into the low to mid-twenties.
00:56Into this evening, and that band of patchy light rain continues its way northwards across Wales into northern parts of England, a few showers continuing still across parts of Scotland, with some longer spells of rain perhaps for the Northern Isles later, cloudier conditions elsewhere with some clear spells, and where we see the best of the clear sky, temperatures dipping to the mid-single figures perhaps across central and southern parts of Scotland, but elsewhere quite a mild night with lows of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.
01:24Into Sunday morning, and it's quite a cloudy start for many areas, so we've still got this band of patchy light rain across some northern parts of England, showery outbreaks of rain and drizzle also across parts of Wales and the south-west, with some heavy showers perhaps for northern Scotland.
01:38Elsewhere some brightness or some sunny spells, and still quite warm, particularly in the east where highs of 23 or 24 Celsius are possible, temperatures around average though elsewhere.
01:48Looking ahead to next weekend, it does stay mostly dry, particularly further west, there'll be some rain or showers at times further east, particularly on Tuesday, but where we see some sunshine not feeling too bad, though overall quite disappointing temperatures for August.
