00:00Hello and welcome to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office.

00:04So Monday is shaping up to be a mostly dry day with sunny spells in places

00:08and a few isolated showers possible, especially in the east at first.

00:12Looking at the general picture, the heat over Spain is set to recede during the course of the week

00:16although temperatures still stay well above average close to home.

00:20Temperatures are dipping a little bit as cooler air digs south as cool wind

00:24whizzes round to the north westerly. So this evening, outbreaks of rain and drizzle

00:28and associated cloud will gradually sink south, clearing much of England during the course

00:32of the overnight period with a lot of clear skies developing behind.

00:36A few isolated showers are possible for a time in the northwest.

00:40Overnight temperatures stay generally in double figures for much of England and Wales

00:44although feeling rather cool further north with temperatures dropping down

00:48into single figures. So moving forward into Monday,

00:52so Monday is a much better day for many parts of the country with a lot of clear

00:56skies developing across much of England and Wales, although a few showers will

01:00initially affect north sea coastal areas and parts of

01:04Wales during the course of the morning. A lot of clear skies across

01:08north sea coastal areas in eastern Scotland will develop as the day progresses,

01:12though clouding over during the afternoon across parts of England. Temperatures

01:16generally on the disappointing side under the cloud across much of England and Wales

01:20into the low 20s. Further north, temperatures disappointingly only

01:24rising up into the high teens. So moving forward

01:28into Monday evening, generally staying fairly cloudy across most

01:32of England and Wales, although clear skies across north eastern coastal areas

01:36will continue to actually be enjoyed by many, clouding over across parts of northeast

01:40Scotland with outbreaks of persistent rain starting to edge in from the west.

01:44Your outlook period is staying generally cloudy throughout the next few

01:48days, although sporadic areas of light rain are possible. Sunny spells
