00:00Hi there, compared with last weekend, this weekend is looking cooler, more breezy and
00:05there will be some showers around. We've seen showers during Friday, mostly in the north
00:09but one or two further south and many of these die away during Friday night. Clear spells
00:14then for a time. But we'll see the cloud thicken from around midnight across western Scotland,
00:20Northern Ireland and some more prolonged rain moves in here, certainly some heavy rain and
00:25a strengthening breeze, risk of gales or unexposed western coasts of Scotland. It looks like
00:31temperatures will drop to 12 or 13 Celsius where we've got that wind and rain, similar
00:36further south but where we get clear spells across central and eastern England, north
00:40east Scotland, single figures are possible, so fresh starts to the weekend. But a fine
00:45start towards the south east, in the north west, low pressure, weather fronts, tightly
00:50packed isobars, so wind and rain first thing Saturday, certainly across western and central
00:57Scotland, Northern Ireland, it's an unsettled start to the day. That rain soon though pushes
01:02into the Northern Isles, into eastern Scotland, southern Scotland, sweeps through the central
01:07belt, clears Northern Ireland and then by the end of the afternoon, quite soon, we're
01:12into clearer conditions across Scotland and Northern Ireland, a mixture of sunny spells
01:16but also a few more showers in the far north west. The rain at this stage is pushing into
01:21Cumbria, Northumberland where actually there will be some heavy bursts, the odd rumble
01:25of thunder as well and some gusty winds. Further south, the cloud will build after a bright
01:31start and even across central and southern parts of the UK, there'll be the odd shower
01:35but away from those showers, sunny spells, a keen breeze making it feel cool but still
01:39the potential for low to mid-twenties in the south, high teens up to around 21 Celsius
01:45towards the north. Now, the area of rain across northern England sinks south, it will
01:52be a showery feature but it moves into north Wales, the north midlands during the evening
01:57and really it comes to a rest about central parts of the UK. To the south, clear spells,
02:03to the north, clear spells as well but further blustery showers push into western Scotland
02:08north of the central belt and where we get some clear spells, a fresh start once again
02:14on Sunday certainly towards the north. Temperatures are starting to creep up again towards the
02:19south west, it's beginning to turn a bit more humid but a bright start actually on Sunday
02:25for many. There'll be further showers through parts of the midlands and Wales where that
02:29front has come to a rest and they start to move north again during the day on Sunday.
02:35Showers across central and northern Scotland meanwhile tend to ease, a better chance of
02:39mostly dry and bright weather by the afternoon here. Lighter winds as well make it feel a
02:45bit more pleasant and to the south actually a lot of dry and bright weather, some sunshine
02:50but the clouds are thickening across Cornwall and by late afternoon some outbreaks of rain
02:55are starting to move in here. The south-westerly breeze will make it feel more humid but actually
02:59for many, temperatures are down a degree or two from Saturday's maximum temperatures
03:05and the rain across north Wales into the north midlands becomes more persistent and
03:11steadier as we go into Sunday evening. Sunday evening brings that rain into the west and
03:17that rain then travels across the country during Monday, turning to showers but there'll
03:21be some heavy rain at times I think in places and it will also feel a bit more humid.
