00:00Hello, a new month is approaching and with it we will see a significant change in the

00:05weather by the weekend. But for the time being, the last couple of days of meteorological

00:10summer bring plenty of warm sunny spells, especially for parts of northern and western

00:16England as well as Wales. Northern Scotland largely dry with some sunshine. West and southwest

00:22Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing areas of cloud and one or two showers and we'll

00:27see a few showers carried in on a breeze into East Anglia and the southeast. Actually that

00:32breeze coming from the east is a fairly keen one, a gusty wind for the English Channel

00:38coast, not ideal conditions if you're heading to the beach. But temperatures inland with

00:44the sunny spells up to 24-25 Celsius in the south, 17-21 further north. Then heading into

00:52the evening, the showers towards the northwest ease away, the cloud disappears in many spots

00:57but one or two showers will continue to affect coasts of eastern England, increasingly the

01:02focus towards Yorkshire, parts of Lincolnshire. Otherwise, clear spells and light winds in

01:09shelter spots will lead to a few mist and fog patches forming primarily across parts

01:14of Wales, the West Midlands for example. Temperatures in some shelter spots dipping into the single

01:19figures, otherwise 12-14 Celsius. And a bright start to the day on Wednesday, sunny spells,

01:26in fact I think a sunnier start compared with Tuesday. Still a few showers coming into these

01:31eastern coasts of England and as temperatures rise they'll develop more widely across northern

01:36England into central parts as well as north Wales. Otherwise, sunny spells, a sunnier

01:43day I think compared with Tuesday and temperatures reaching the low to mid-20s in the south,

01:49high teens, low 20s further north but still this brisk breeze especially around southern

01:54and eastern coasts. Wednesday evening then sees the showers inland fade away, the cloud

02:00disappear, and for most it's a benign end to the day. High pressure is in charge. That

02:07means Thursday starts off dry with sunny spells and another fair day to come for the first

02:13day of September but that is all about to change. By Friday this weather front swings

02:19in from the Atlantic, that could bring some rain or showers into the north-west and then

02:23that develops into a fairly active area of low pressure towards the south-west for Saturday

02:30and into Sunday bringing strong winds into the north, bringing areas of heavy rain and

02:35showers into the rest of the country. Of course we need the rain but by Saturday and Sunday

02:41it is certainly going to feel a lot more like autumn and we'll keep you updated on all of
