00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through the
00:04rest of Sunday, for a lot of us we will see largely cloudy skies, but up towards Western
00:09Scotland and eventually into Northern Ireland and parts of Cumbria we will see some sunshine.
00:15The cloud will be thick enough in places to produce some spots of rain, especially across
00:19Northern England into Wales and the South West. But despite the cloud it will be a muggy
00:24feeling day across the south, temperatures low to mid 20s across the board. A little
00:29bit fresher further north across Scotland and Northern Ireland, but even here temperatures
00:33reaching the high teens. Going into this evening, the sunshine will spread a little bit further
00:38south to give a pleasant end to the day across many north western parts of the country. Elsewhere
00:44the cloud will linger on, still with the chance of a few spots of rain around, but that cloud
00:49will help to give another muggy night, especially in the south east, temperatures not falling
00:53much lower than 15 or 17 degrees. Under the clearest skies further north, a little bit
00:58more of a comfortable night to sleep in, with temperatures here 9 to 12.
01:03So as we start the first day of August for many parts of the country, we will start off
01:08on a bright note with some sunshine, still some cloud in the east, that will trigger
01:12a few showers, but even here the cloud will break up as we go into the afternoon. Some
01:17cloud and rain may just reach the far west as we head into the evening hours, but for
01:23most of the UK it will be a dry and sunny afternoon, with temperatures responding in
01:28that sunshine potentially up to 28 or 29 degrees in the south east. That warm theme will continue
01:34in the south as we go into Tuesday before something a little bit fresher begins to move
01:39in from the north in the middle part of the week, with the main focus of any rain this
01:43week in the north. If you want any more information you can always check us out on our social
