00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest Met Office national weather forecast. Well, looking at
00:05the bigger picture over the next few days, it does stay rather changeable. We do have
00:09a ridge of high pressure at the moment, just about keeping things a little bit more settled.
00:14But this area of low pressure then sinks its way southwards through Tuesday and into Wednesday
00:18and then further weather systems trying to move in towards the end of the week.
00:24So for the details for the rest of Monday, a lot of cloud across the UK. There will be
00:29some bright or sunny spells at times, but often grey skies. There will be a scattering
00:34of showers too, particularly across western parts of England and Wales into Northern Ireland,
00:37a few for Scotland as well. But many places will be dry, so showers a lot less frequent
00:43and also on the light side. We did see some heavy thundery showers, particularly across
00:48eastern England through Sunday. And generally, with light winds too, it won't feel too bad
00:53where you do see some brighter breaks. High teens to low 20s, perhaps 22 Celsius as a
00:58maximum temperature towards southeast England.
01:01Into this evening time, a band of rain does move into northwest Scotland, give some heavy
01:06rain, particularly across the Highlands. This slowly pushes its way southeastwards across
01:10the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland into the early hours with clear spells and
01:14showers following. For England and Wales overnight, generally quite cloudy, a few showers largely
01:19across western parts and many places on the dry side and temperatures generally holding
01:24up 12 to 14 Celsius to take us into Tuesday morning.
01:29So here's that weather front across northern England, southern Scotland down into west
01:32Wales and the West Country. It just slowly pushes southeastwards through the morning,
01:36one or two heavier bursts on it developing as it breaks up into more of a showery feature
01:40for the afternoon. Some low cloud for southern parts of Wales, southwest England running
01:45into southern coasts of England too and a few showers across southeast England. Behind
01:50this weather front, it brightens up for north Wales, northern England, some sunny spells
01:54into northern Ireland too, but blustery showers particularly across Scotland as the winds
01:58pick up here, some of the showers on the heavy side. So again, if you see some sunshine,
02:03it won't feel too bad on Tuesday afternoon, temperatures reaching the high teens to low
02:0720s, 21 to 22 towards southeast England.
02:11Into Wednesday, it's another day of sunny spells and scattered showers. So a bright
02:15start with plenty of sunshine first thing, just showers largely across the north and
02:19the west. But the cloud bubbles up as we move through the day, so clouding over generally,
02:24but there will be some sunny spells and a scattering of showers and once more temperatures
02:28generally around average for the time of year, reaching the high teens, locally low 20s across
02:33some sheltered spots. So if you'd like more information on the weather, where you are
02:38for the next few days, you can follow us on our social media channels. I'll see you again
02:42soon.
