00:00Hello again, welcome to your national weather forecast. Over the next few days then we're
00:04going to see a fair amount of fine dry weather across a good part of the UK, warming up as
00:09well towards the end of the week and then further perhaps into next week. However, not
00:13completely dry, there will be a little bit of rain towards the far north west of Scotland.
00:17And that's because here we'll be closest to these weather fronts which will keep pushing
00:21in from the North Atlantic over the next couple of days. Fairly weak affair, so not a huge
00:25amount of rain on it, this high pressure keeping things mostly fine and settled further south.
00:30With time though, this area of high pressure is going to shuffle its way a little bit further
00:33towards the east, which means all parts of the UK should be dry to end the weekend and
00:37those rain bearing weather fronts will be deflected well to the north of the country.
00:41However, at the moment they are still quite close to us, bringing a fair amount of cloud
00:46and further outbreaks of rain and drizzle, particularly in parts of northern and western
00:49Scotland. Overnight though, a weakening cold front will push its way a little bit further
00:53south across parts of England and Wales. Very weak affair, so very little if any rain on
00:57it for most places, the odd spot here and there. But quite a cloudy night for Northern
01:00Ireland and a good part of Wales and England. Some clear spells though coming through late
01:04in the night across Scotland and where we've got those clear skies for longest, those temperatures
01:08might just locally dip into single figures. But for most of us though, it is quite a mild
01:13if not quite warm night, temperatures in the mid teens for some.
01:16Now the best of the sunshine then, first thing on Thursday morning will be across parts of
01:21Scotland and here quite a promising start to the day. Further south though, a lot of
01:24cloud, the odd spot of rain possible in places. But as we move on through the day, hopefully
01:29most of that cloud will break up and by the afternoon, blue skies across a good part of
01:33southern and eastern Scotland, Wales and England, lovely afternoon to come.
01:37Different story further north and west though, for Northern Ireland more cloud pushing back
01:39in and particularly for western and northern Scotland. We'll see that cloud thickening
01:43and lowering, bringing some further outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly for the west of
01:47the mainland, the western isles, Orkney and Shetland where we have the odd heavier burst
01:50later on.
01:52Here it will be relatively cool once again with temperatures in the mid teens but anywhere
01:56we've got some sunshine, it will feel quite warm on Thursday afternoon and the highest
01:59temperatures again 25, 26 somewhere across the south.
02:04Now for Thursday evening, a glorious evening to come, great for being out and about if
02:07you can be and the sunshine giving way to a clear night to take us into Friday morning.
02:12Further north though, that cloud will continue to invade from the Atlantic, so quite a damp
02:15evening and night to come across western Scotland, the odd spot of rain too for the far west
02:19of Northern Ireland but eastern and southern Scotland should remain mostly dry and it will
02:23be another fairly warm night to come, it has to be said. Even where we've got the clear
02:26skies, this air mass is gradually warming up so even where we've got clear skies, 13
02:30to 16 degrees will be your minimum temperature to take us into Friday.
02:35Then Friday is set fair for many places, yes there will be some early rain across the north
02:38west of Scotland but elsewhere, a fair amount of dry weather around, some sunny spells,
02:41quite lengthy periods of sunshine in the south and those temperatures peaking around about
02:4527 Celsius, that's into the low 80s Fahrenheit in the London area.
02:50Now more weather can be found of course across the Met Office website or by following us
02:55across social media, whatever you're doing, take care and I'll see you again soon. Bye
02:58for now.
