00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:03We continue to see a feed of north-easterly winds delivering showers as well as cloud through the next 24 hours.
00:11Either side of that, some brighter skies through Wednesday, the north-west of Scotland, the south-east of England, and even some holes in the cloud elsewhere.
00:19However, through Tuesday evening, some showery rain across the far south-east of England clears towards the west,
00:24so expect some showers just coming in across more central and south-western parts.
00:29Showers continue, there will be light across much of England and Wales, south-east Scotland,
00:34clearer skies across western Scotland, and a mostly dry night with some holes in the cloud for Northern Ireland.
00:39Temperatures here are around 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, but in the glens of Scotland, we could see values as low as minus 6,
00:45certainly towards Tulloch, where we'll see clearer skies overnight.
00:49Now for Shetland, some showery rain to start the day, a keen breeze.
00:53That showery rain pushes down towards Orkney through the afternoon.
00:56Those showers run in across the south-east of Scotland, north-east England, pushing towards Yorkshire, the Midlands,
01:02East Anglia seeing one or two, as well as Wales.
01:04Towards the south of that, you can see holes in the cloud.
01:07Yes, there'll be a breeze there, but we'll see some sunshine.
01:10So through the day, like the last few days, this is pretty much the pattern of the weather.
01:15The winds will be strong along the east coast.
01:17Those showers continue to move in, they'll be mostly light, they'll be fleeting, but pushing ever south-westwards.
01:22Holes in the cloud for Northern Ireland allow for some brightness through the afternoon
01:26and some sunshine coming through for western and central parts of Scotland.
01:29Towards the south as well, we'll see some holes there, so some brighter weather to end the day.
01:34Whereas those showers across more central and eastern areas will continue, feeling cold in that wind.
01:39Certainly a bit of a wind chill in the air, as temperatures struggle through the afternoon.
01:44Coming in at the very best, around 8 or 9 degrees Celsius.
01:49We could just about squeeze a 10 degree Celsius, help with a little sunshine, down towards the west country.
01:54But certainly a keen wind to end the day.
01:58So that's the picture on Wednesday.
02:00Through Wednesday night and into Thursday, again those showers will continue.
02:05The winds still quite strong along the coast of Northumberland, south-east Scotland, as well as eastern parts of Yorkshire.
02:13A lighter breeze further south-east and across the far north.
02:16You can see those skies yet again will clear, allowing for a fairly widespread frost.
02:21So Thursday will dawn bright here, but also cold.
02:25Elsewhere, a few fleeting showers through the day on Thursday across northern England.
02:29The Isle of Man, perhaps the far south of Northern Ireland.
02:32But there'll be few and far between, certainly a lot more drier weather around.
02:36And the clouds will be a bit more mottled, a bit more broken, allowing for some brighter skies.
02:41Here are your temperatures then, and here's your outlook through Friday.
02:45Again, the chances of some sunshine, mostly dry after a fairly cold start.
02:50And into the weekend, we're chasing cloud, things remain fairly settled.
02:53The beginning of next week though, it turns a lot colder.
02:57I'll see you later. Bye bye for now.
