00:00Hello there welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Through the
00:03next few days it's rain or showers although it does slowly settle down from
00:08the north through the latter part of the working week and into the weekend with
00:12some sunshine on the horizon. Now let's take a look at the bigger picture.
00:15Through Wednesday this system here slowly skirts in, quieter weather
00:20towards the north on Thursday but we'll see some showery bursts of rain on
00:24Thursday Northern Ireland, England and Wales and then this weather system here
00:28this weather front bumps its way across England and Wales into Friday before
00:32clearing high pressure then sits towards the north and extends southwards. For the
00:37time being that's Tuesday evening this area of clouds and showery rain slowly
00:43pushes towards the east so you could see the rain pep up for a time with the odd
00:48rumble of thunder before it clears. Elsewhere frequent and heavy showers
00:52across the north, northeast, northwest a keen breeze here and again the odd
00:56rumble of thunder. Inland though some clearer skies although a few showers
00:59running in across Irish sea coast. Now overnight it is going to turn rather
01:04cool rather chilly actually in one or two rural spots towards the north where
01:08you see some starry skies as temperatures hold around 11 to 13 in
01:14the towns and cities but inland single figures lower than that across more
01:19central parts of Scotland. And first thing on Wednesday morning some bright
01:23skies for Orkney and Shetland one or two showers never too far away frequent
01:26showers across the north northeast of Scotland running in across the far north
01:30of Northern Ireland skirting towards the Isle of Man, northwest England, northern
01:34and western parts of Wales. Some drier skies further south and east and a
01:38brighter start to the day come Wednesday morning with some sunshine. Now through
01:42the day the cloud will build and we'll see a scattering of showers develop away
01:47from the West Country some drier weather here and certainly Irish sea coast
01:50seeing some brighter weather. Through the day these showers continue across
01:54Scotland much of England and Wales and they'll become more frequent across
01:58central and eastern areas through the afternoon as we see drier skies further
02:02west. More cloud through the day for Northern Ireland one or two showers here
02:06but some brighter weather to end the day with some sunny spells. Temperatures
02:11then through the afternoon no great shakes coming in around 18 to 21 degrees
02:15Celsius. Now through Wednesday evening those showers fade away yet again and we
02:20will see some clearer skies and it's going to be another chilly one before
02:24cloud and rain moves in across the west and the south through Thursday and then
02:29you can see here that ridge extends down from the south through Friday and into
02:35Saturday. The ice bars open up still a bit breezy across south coast there but
02:40even so high pressure in charge for the weekend so stay tuned to the forecast
02:44for the weekend because it looks a bit brighter as well as drier or settled.
02:49Backtrack to Thursday now you can see some fine weather for much of Scotland
02:53more clouds and some rain for Northern Ireland temperatures here only 16
02:57degrees Celsius and further south yes Northern England may get away with it
03:02with some dry weather but that rain moves down across England and Wales it
03:05could turn heavy for a time with some showers to follow from the west later.
03:09Come Friday a little more cloud around across Scotland a little bit of showery
03:14rain from time to time but predominantly dry and Northern Ireland having a better
03:19day around with some brighter skies and here's your outlook on Friday further
03:23south some showery rain across southern counties slowly clearing a bit more
03:27cloud but temperatures on the up 18 to 21 degrees Celsius and the outlook into
03:32the weekend currently it looks like it will settle down with some sunshine in
03:35the mix just a few showers towards the south and perhaps the far northwest
03:39towards the end of the weekend but keep you posted on all your social media
03:43channels
