00:00Hello there, welcome to a weather update from the Met Office.

00:04A band of rain continues to straddle the country north to south

00:08through Thursday and into Friday, bringing some wet weather through Thursday night,

00:12some moderate if not heavy bursts across eastern Scotland, even down towards northern

00:17counts of England and the Midlands for a time. Strongest winds will be across eastern Scotland,

00:23but a northerly wind will develop across Northern Ireland, delivering some showers here

00:28and they'll run down Irish sea coasts as well. Generally under the clouds, temperatures will

00:33hold up but a chilly night to come across starry skies of Northern Ireland as well as western

00:38Scotland, a cold start to the day here. However, for western Scotland it will be a bright one,

00:43one or two showers lurking across the western isles. You can see where the rain is,

00:46most persistent rain will be Aberdeenshire down towards Northumberland, but further west,

00:52drizzly bits and pieces can't be ruled out, the central belt towards Cumbria, even Lancashire

00:57and Yorkshire seeing a damp start to the day, a bit more in the way of persistent rain for East

01:02Yorkshire, Lincolnshire down towards East Anglia just for a time. Showers will run in across

01:07Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Cornwall and Devon and we'll see a few just developing across Northern

01:13Ireland, one or two just running in across the northwest of Scotland, but here's some brighter

01:18weather and that sunshine will develop as we head through the day. Hanging on to more cloud and rain

01:23across eastern counties and also this sort of central segment of the UK, southern Scotland,

01:29northern England, eastern England as well, so feeling quite unpleasant under that cloud and

01:34rain, but not a bad day further west with some sunshine to end the working week and here's

01:39your outlook through Saturday. Northwest will be best in terms of sunshine after a bit of a frosty

01:45start, always more cloud further south and east and even some patchy drizzle from time to time,

01:49a similar situation through Sunday and it is going to turn a little colder. Bye.
