00:00Hello there. About two-thirds of the country seeing some wet weather on
00:04Thursday with gales across Irish sea coasts and the North Channel. So yes, more
00:08wet weather on its way. All courtesy of these areas of low pressure really
00:12affecting Scotland through the next few days but even some wet weather further
00:16south across Northern Ireland, Northern England for a time on Friday as this
00:21system pushes northwards and this rain warning extends from Friday and into
00:25Saturday across the Western Highlands as well as the islands. Elsewhere a ridge of
00:29high pressure extends from the south through Friday, some fine conditions and
00:33it turns much warmer as temperatures rise into the 20s. We hang on to some
00:38rain though across the far north of Scotland. Now let's backtrack to
00:41Wednesday evening where it's rather drizzly with some outbreaks of rain the
00:45far north of England, the far south of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland
00:48although Belfast may get away with it through evening time. Towards the north
00:51some clearer skies, more clouds towards the south, one or two passing showers
00:56here across Channel Coast and Irish Sea Coast. But notice what's happening
01:00towards the west. The cloud will thicken through the early hours of the morning
01:03when the first of the rain will arrive across Northern Ireland and to end the
01:06night it's going to be rather chilly across Aberdeenshire, Caithness as well
01:10as Sutherland and the Cairngorms. But this mass of wet weather continues its
01:15passage eastwards and northwards through Friday morning. It's a dry morning for
01:20the Midlands, East Anglia as well as Lincolnshire, central southern England
01:24and even the West Country seeing some hazy sunshine. But notice some patchy
01:27rain moving in across Ceredigion, Anglesey, Gwynedd pushing up towards
01:32Lancashire, Liverpool Bay as well as Cumbria covering much of Scotland
01:36through the morning into the afternoon. Northern Ireland seeing some brighter
01:39weather to the end of the day. It's still very windy here and some heavier pulses
01:45of rain can't be ruled out across the northwest of England, the far north of
01:48Wales through the latter part of the day as that rain pushes up towards Orkney
01:53covering again much of Scotland. Windy conditions here, a bright end to the day
01:58for the South Midlands, southwards and eastwards. Now through Thursday evening
02:03and overnight we could see some drizzly bits and pieces just extending down
02:07towards East Anglia as well as Wales. Certainly for the Western Islands as
02:11well as the West Highlands you'll see drizzly weather, low cloud here, intense
02:16rain for Shetland as it clears, Orkney strong winds here and some more showery
02:21bursts of rain arrive through the early hours of Friday morning across Northern
02:25Ireland. Again prone spots, northwest England, Wales, southwest Scotland. We'll
02:31turn windy here although it'll be a mild start to Friday across much of central
02:35and eastern areas of England, eastern Scotland, northern Scotland also seeing
02:39some fine conditions to start the day although it will be windy. And through
02:42the day this area of cloud and rain intensifies as it moves northwards hence
02:46the reason why there's a warning for that rain from around lunchtime across
02:51the western side of Scotland. We could see some rain just lingering on across
02:55border regions as well as Northumberland into the afternoon but for the bulk of
02:59England and Wales it's a fine day, it's a bright one, it's a warmer one, 18 to 22
03:04degrees Celsius and that sort of subtropical air does mean temperatures
03:08will be around 19 or 20 for central and southern parts of Scotland. So here's
03:13your outlook through Thursday, that rain lingers across central and northern
03:16areas of Scotland but on Sunday most places will be fine and dry. Temperatures
03:20around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Stay tuned to the forecast and I will keep
03:25you posted here on all our social media channels. I'll see you later.
