00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Settling down through the weekend and warming up, although we will see some rain in the
00:07North West on Sunday. This rain through Friday evening covers much
00:11of eastern counties of England, eastern parts of the Midlands, extending for a time towards
00:15the South East of Scotland, some heavy bursts towards the far South East, clearer skies
00:19elsewhere, watch out for a frost, particularly for Northern Ireland, Central and Western
00:23areas of Scotland. But a sparkling start to the day on Saturday
00:27across many Western areas, lots of blue sky. This rain here fades away, the cloud breaks
00:32up through the morning on Saturday, and then some sunshine will trigger one or two showers
00:36through the afternoon, which could turn heavy, particularly for East Anglia, a lovely day
00:40elsewhere, beautiful blue sky to end the day across many areas as temperatures rise a couple
00:45of degrees higher than the last few days, 12, 13, 14, 15 degrees Celsius, and then the
00:50cloud thickens all the while through Saturday evening, bringing outbreaks of rain to Northern
00:53Ireland, Western Scotland, the Isle of Man, even the far North West of Wales. Some patchy
00:57rain and drizzle further south across Irish sea coasts and some clearer skies further
01:01east. We could see a touch of grass frost as we head into Sunday morning. Now, a rather
01:06cloudy morning on Sunday, this rain becomes confined to Western Scotland, so drying up
01:11across Northern Ireland and brightening up. Sunshine for eastern and southern counties
01:15and some sunshine also for the North East of Scotland through the afternoon. Dry skies
01:19across many areas, and this will help temperatures up to 17, even 18 degrees Celsius. Now, on
01:24Sunday and into Monday, this high pressure system across Scandinavia extends towards
01:30the UK, and then we inherit a southeasterly, easterly wind, that wind blowing over a cold
01:36sea, so we see a colder feed of air through next week. Elsewhere, though, it's a fine
01:40week. We'll see some good spells of sunshine, highest temperatures possibly in the west,
01:45perhaps even the North West, but on Monday, most places will have a warm day, a dry day,
01:50with some good sunny spells. So all in all, yes, things not looking too bad at all into
01:54next week. Very different from this week, with some good spells of sunshine and temperatures,
01:59well, not too bad, coming in around 18, 19. We could even see a 20 degrees Celsius earlier
02:04on in the week. Watch out for some coolness later on in the week coming in from the east
02:08or the southeast.
