00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:05It's wet outside this evening and rain continues its passage northwards and eastwards
00:10through Thursday night and into Friday morning, clearing off the scene eventually.
00:15But the low will stay with us and that means showers through Friday, Saturday, Sunday
00:19and into the first part of next week as temperatures slowly recover.
00:24At the same time, a bit of a squeeze on the ice bars on Saturday across more southern areas.
00:28Here we'll see a bit more of a breeze and showers will rattle across.
00:32They'll be slow moving further north.
00:34If you are travelling through Thursday evening, it's pretty unpleasant outside.
00:37Watch out for some heavy pulses of rain, particularly across northern England,
00:40central and southern parts of Scotland.
00:42Eastern counties are also seeing that cloud outbreaks of rain
00:45as the rain makes progress towards the far north of Scotland.
00:48Shower bursts continue across Northern Ireland as further showers just move in
00:52on a keen breeze towards the south as well as the southwest.
00:56You'll notice a difference in the feel to the air.
01:07It's much milder, which is good news.
01:09It's been so cold this week, particularly through the mornings.
01:12But with that, once the sun gets to work, we'll see showers develop in situ
01:16and track from the southwest towards the north.
01:19And they could be heavy, merged together to form longer spells of rain
01:22with the outside chance of thunder.
01:25Some sunshine in between.
01:26Feeling not bad at all with that sun.
01:28Temperatures 16 to 19 degrees Celsius.
01:31So a mixed message coming through in terms of sunshine and showers.
01:35Feeling cool or warm.
01:37Yes, there's a bit of everything going on on Friday.
01:40And that's pretty much the scene for the weekend as well.
01:43However, through Friday night and into Saturday morning,
01:45the rain returns to Northern Ireland, extends across Wales and Midlands,
01:48the West Country up towards northern England, southwest Scotland.
01:51Some heavy pulses to start the weekend here.
01:53And then it's sunshine and showers wherever you are.
01:55And again, some of these could be on the heavy side.
01:58Temperatures typically the mid to high teens.
02:00Up a notch on Sunday.
02:02A scattering of showers coming through.
02:04Some sunshine also.
02:05And that's pretty much how we see Monday as well.
02:07I'll see you later.
