00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning where we do
00:04have some wet weather around and also a rain warning across eastern counties of
00:08England. Here's that rain warning here extending from border regions and that's
00:13south of the border right the way down towards Lincolnshire. We've seen some
00:16heavy rain overnight and the rain band has stalled across these parts through
00:21today, hence the reason why rainfall totals will continue to rise. So expect
00:25surface water issues, even some localised flooding. Yes, some horrible
00:29conditions outside this morning with those leaden skies. Now as we head
00:33through Thursday, the rain will slowly ease from these parts as it gradually
00:38pushes down towards more southern areas and here's your rain warning from
00:42Thursday evening and into Friday, extending across much of central and
00:47southern parts of England and Wales. Now we've seen a lot of rain here through
00:51the last four or five days, this is not going to help the situation, the land is
00:55that saturated, we've seen river flooding, property flooding and there's
00:59more rain on its way. The rainfall totals won't be as high as they have been
01:04through the last few days, even so it is going to top up those river levels and
01:08as I said there will be some impacts associated with this. So this is the rain
01:13warning which goes to 10 a.m. on Friday and then slowly the air becomes colder
01:19from the north. This cold stream of air will bring some showers before a ridge
01:24extends from the southwest. We hang on to some cold air, particularly by night, so
01:30expect even a touch of frost but all change yet again through Sunday and into
01:35Monday as that high gradually drifts away and we see low pressure coming in
01:38from the Atlantic. So if you are stepping out first thing on Thursday morning, some
01:43clear skies, even a touch of frost across northern parts of Scotland, that cold
01:47wind with a few showers. Now let's just pause it here, you can see where that
01:50rain is, particularly covering the northeast of England as well as the
01:55North York Moors and Pennine districts. It extends towards the Isle of Man as
01:59well as Northern Ireland through the first part of the day, particularly
02:03towards the east there. A little bit of showery rain up towards the central belt
02:07of Scotland. Now towards the south, south of the rain band, we're seeing some
02:12heavy showers. They've been moving in overnight, the risk of some quite intense
02:16downpours, they'll be fairly sporadic. Also the chance of thunder associated
02:21with any really heavy downpours through the morning into the afternoon. And then
02:26this rain band here, with those strong winds, pushes slowly southwards. So we'll
02:32see an improvement in the weather across much of Scotland, even Northern Ireland
02:36through the afternoon. However, notice this rain just then pushes down towards
02:40Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, eventually Derbyshire, the far north of Wales.
02:46Showers elsewhere will develop inland through the afternoon, they're likely to
02:50be heavy again with thunder, as this rain becomes persistent and reinvigorates as
02:54it slides down towards the Midlands through the latter part of today. So
02:59here's your warning zone through the afternoon, and here are your temperatures
03:0311 or 12 with that cold wind in the north, around 18 if you catch any
03:07sunshine towards the south, in between around 14 Celsius. So tricky driving
03:12conditions if you are out and about through this evening during rush hour, a
03:15strong wind, outbreaks of rain and some gusty showers towards the south. These
03:21showers streaming in on a cold wind into the early hours of Friday morning as
03:25well. Here temperatures again struggling, they're low single figures and a touch of
03:30frost can't be ruled out in sheltered glens. For Northern Ireland, a few showers
03:34particularly along the coast, but some brighter weather to start the day as we
03:38head into Friday morning. And here's that rain band which will be pretty
03:42persistent through the first part of the day, again sinking southwards as we head
03:46into Friday morning. And some heavy showers still lurking across Channel
03:51Coast, again they'll be quite intense with the risk of thunder. But notice
03:55through Friday, eventually this very wet weather does clear towards the low
04:00countries. And then we're all bathed in this cold air from the north and also
04:05some showers. But inland, certainly an improvement with some sunshine. A
04:09snapshot for Saturday morning. The chance of some pockets of grass frost, if not
04:14air frost, in shelter towards the north. Showers lurking around, more particularly
04:19along the coast, but even inland and that wind will be cold. In between though,
04:23notice some sunshine. And as you saw earlier, a ridge of high pressure is
04:28extending from the Atlantic. So things tend to dampen down and what that means,
04:32we lose the intensity of those showers and we gain some drier as well as
04:36brighter weather. So that means an improving picture through the day. A few
04:41fleeting showers towards the west as well as the northwest. Clouds comes and
04:46goes across Scotland, but inland we'll see some sunny skies. And after the
04:50chance of a very cold night into Sunday morning, certainly than what we have seen
04:54across the country, we'll see some sunshine yet again with a few showers
04:58before all change, as I said, into Monday. Now for more details of the weather
