00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. It's wet
00:03across the north through Wednesday and some stronger winds as well and then
00:07more rain on its way through Thursday and Friday. Now through the early hours
00:10of Wednesday morning this rain warning kicks in across the western side of
00:14Scotland's central belt. You can see some high rainfall totals. It remains wet into
00:18Thursday as well. It's airy flow pressure delivering more cloud and rain and wind
00:22particularly across the north as well as the west. A rain warning extends across
00:25central and western areas of Scotland and that pushes through until Friday as
00:29well. So some wet weather on its way. Expect some localised flooding, obviously
00:33swollen rivers with a lot of rainfall coming your way from the west and again
00:38we could see some stronger winds. In fact through this evening it's not dry
00:41everywhere. Showers across more western parts, perhaps even down towards Wales
00:45and the West Country. Clearer skies further east. Keen breeze across Shetland
00:49as well as Orkney and then thickening cloud brings outbreaks of rain around
00:52midnight pushing ever eastwards. Notice these bright echoes representing some
00:57quite intense birds and it extends back all the way to the Atlantic and all of
01:01this wet weather is moving this way. Hence the reason why we see this yellow
01:05rain warning. So here are your temperatures overnight. 10, 11, 12 degrees
01:09Celsius. Perhaps some hazy sunshine to start the day across eastern counties of
01:13England. More cloud further west and wet across central and western parts of
01:18Scotland. A slither of sunshine for the far north of Scotland but that's not
01:21going to last. This area of cloud will just bring with it some patchy rain as
01:25we head through the day but the most intense and persistent burst will be
01:28further south across the Central Belt, western Scotland. For Northern Ireland
01:31after a bit of a dry start more cloud perhaps one or two showers and then
01:35there's rain sinks down towards these parts as we head through into the
01:38afternoon and evening time. And for the far north of England that's Cumbria as
01:43well as Northumberland you'll see some rain towards the end of the day. But
01:47rush hour for the Central Belt should be slightly better. We'll see some clearer
01:50skies, blustery showers towards the north and some brighter weather anywhere from
01:53Yorkshire southwards. One or two showers here through Wednesday but also some
01:57sunshine coming through. Now through Wednesday evening this is that weather
02:01front. It tends to fade away a little bit as it sinks down towards Yorkshire. So
02:06some patchy rain here hovers over Northern Ireland as well. Though southern
02:10parts of the province may get away with it. And then it returns to western
02:13Scotland as we head through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. At the
02:17same time the winds will ease a little bit. You can see still some cloud in the
02:21sky but some clearer skies across the far north there. A few showers for the
02:26Northern Isles. So through the early hours of Thursday morning temperatures
02:30holding around 10, 11, 12 degrees Celsius cold towards the northeast of Scotland
02:35and some hazy sunshine to start the day across the Midlands, East Anglia as well
02:38as the southeast central southern England. Now through the day this rain
02:41continues particularly on the upslopes where we could see some high rainfall
02:45totals and in thickening clouds through the morning will bring outbreaks of rain
02:48to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, West Wales seeing some patchy rain turning a
02:53bit more showery through the day for northern counties of England. The rain
02:56skirts towards northern and western areas of Scotland. Further east you could
03:00see more clouds and some patchy rain and certainly it's going to be a bit of a
03:03grey day across Irish sea coast. Further east across central and eastern areas of
03:07England some bright skies, some hazy sunshine. Your outlook then through
03:11Friday. You can see the temperatures starting to rise across more southern
03:14areas. 20, 21 degrees Celsius even higher through the weekend and the cloud
03:19and the rain across Scotland will tend to ease and we'll see some drier skies
03:22here although rain never too far away into the weekend across Scotland. I'll
03:26see you later, bye bye.
