00:00Hello there. Finally we see some drier conditions move in across Scotland
00:05through the next few days although blustery showers continue in the north
00:08and west as a band of rain slowly sinks its way southwards across England and
00:13Wales clipping Northern Ireland through tonight. That's Tuesday night into
00:17Wednesday morning. A rain warning across Western Scotland until 9 p.m. but notice
00:22this front slowly shifts southwards. We could see some heavy pulses across North
00:26Wales, North West England and then a slight ridge comes in through Wednesday
00:30and into Thursday so it turns cold away from this weather front here with a
00:35chance of some frost but some bright skies to start the day on Thursday
00:39before the winds pick up from the west across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:43Another bank of showery rain moves in and we could see some heavy showers just
00:47push northwards across England and Wales through Friday. So all in all yes some
00:52wet weather to end the working week and also some strong winds particularly in
00:57the north. For the time being this is the band of rain which will slowly push down
01:02towards southern Scotland. Again notice some bright echoes that means some
01:06heavier pulses of rain just coming and going. A relentless wind delivering
01:10showers to north and west Scotland. Across England and Wales we could see
01:14some patchy rain and drizzle over the hills as well as the moors but mostly
01:18drier skies before this rain pushes down towards Yorkshire as well as
01:22Liverpool Bay. Extends towards the north and the west of Wales, patchy drizzle
01:26further east and we just continue to see some rain across the Isle of Man. Some
01:31heavy pulses just lingering on across the far southeast of Northern Ireland.
01:36Further north though it's a cold start to the day. A bright one though we'll see
01:39some sunshine. Further south always a lot of clouds to begin Wednesday. So through
01:44the day the rain will pep up. We're likely to see some heavy pulses as it
01:49gradually sinks down towards Mid Wales as well as the Midlands. Clearer skies
01:53then across much of Northern Ireland by around mid-morning. Into the afternoon
01:57some sunshine for southern parts of Scotland. A better day for Aberdeenshire.
02:01Further west though a strong and cold wind with those blustery showers. Ahead
02:06of this rain band we could see more clouds and some patchy rain and drizzle.
02:09The air remains warm here but certainly we'll see some wet weather to end the
02:14day as this rain pushes down towards these parts. So that's the picture
02:18through Wednesday afternoon. Some bright weather across Cumbria and Northumberland
02:22as we head through the latter part of the day and temperatures in the south
02:2520 or 21 but look at this in the north 10, 11, 12, 13 degrees Celsius. So through
02:31Wednesday evening and overnight this rain here continues its passage
02:36southwards and southeastwards. What that means further north we will see some
02:41clearer skies and still a wind delivering those showers through
02:46Wednesday evening across the north and the west of Scotland. Frequent bursts
02:49across Caithness, Orkney as well as Shetland with a driving wind. This rain
02:54continues you can see again the odd pulse just rippling along the rain band
02:59bringing the odd heavier burst to East Anglia, the Midlands, central southern
03:04England. So a wet evening and a wet night into Thursday morning here but clearer
03:09skies further north will allow temperatures to dip to single figures
03:13and close to freezing across rural spots. So Northern Ireland could see lowest
03:17temperature around minus one degrees Celsius, the glens of Scotland perhaps
03:21down to around zero but still double figures along central southern England
03:25where that cloud remains through the first part of Thursday. So again a wet
03:30morning on Thursday here. Elsewhere on Thursday brighter skies, some sunshine,
03:36the winds have eased overnight so a pleasant morning albeit rather chilly
03:40and then slowly that wind will continue to pick up through the afternoon ahead
03:45of this next system here as the rain clears towards the low countries. So Kent
03:49seeing some drizzly bits and pieces until probably mid-afternoon.
03:53Temperatures then coming in around 16 to 18, 19 degrees Celsius but 12 or 13
03:59further north. That sets the scene as we head into the weekend. Before that though
04:02remember that weather front skirting England and Wales bringing with its
04:06showers towards an awesome heavy rain further south and we'll see some
04:09brighter weather, some sunshine and just a few showers for Scotland and Northern
04:14Ireland turning chilly though into the weekend.
