Transcript
00:00Fog returns tonight, that's Tuesday night across central and southern parts of Scotland,
00:06extending down towards northern England and even further south where we see gaps in the cloud.
00:10Through tomorrow it's a murky day but some sunshine on the cards,
00:12particularly across the north of the country as more cloud approaches more western areas.
00:17Now through Tuesday evening you can see that stubborn cloud across much of England
00:22where you see gaps in the cloud. Further north that's where the fog will reform,
00:25become widespread as well as dense. We could see some forming further south and southwest.
00:30Now across the far north of Scotland, central parts of Scotland, some clearer skies here,
00:34temperatures dipping down to minus four, minus five degrees Celsius.
00:37But where you saw the fog through Tuesday across northern Ireland,
00:40it's a low cloud through into Wednesday morning as the wind picks up a little bit of strength.
00:46So first thing on Wednesday, a cold start, a frosty one for the north
00:50and then that low cloud or fog only slowly lifting.
00:53Some places could see it throughout the day, particularly across the spine of the country.
00:57Towards the periphery, yes, some holes in the cloud allowing some brighter skies.
01:00That will be the case across the north and the west of Scotland.
01:03Some passing showers for Shetland with a keen breeze and a breezy day for northern Ireland
01:08and the western side of Scotland where we will see more clouds
01:11and some outbreaks of rain for northern Ireland and the western isles.
01:15So wherever you are, it's going to be a fairly chilly one,
01:17particularly where you don't see any sunshine. But winds will be fairly light in land
01:22as temperatures rise around six to 11 degrees Celsius.
01:25But where that fog lingers, it could be much lower than that.
01:29Now, here's your outlook through Thursday. Again, it's a cloudy day.
01:32High pressure tends to be in charge, more of a breeze towards the northwest.
01:36And we'll see that invasion of cloud and rain across these parts of Scotland through the day.
01:42And then as we head through Friday, you can see these blues migrating,
01:46particularly across England and Wales and eastern Scotland.
01:50So the air turns even colder. Now, the wind will then pick up a little bit of strength
01:54through Friday and into Saturday, delivering some showers from the North Sea.
01:59Always more of a breeze towards the northwest through the latter part of the working week.
02:03But even here, we'll see a lighter wind through into the weekend.
02:07And all in all, yes, it will remain cold with low cloud plaguing the country,
02:12fog and frost where you see some clearer skies.
02:14And watch out for some North Sea showers through the weekend.
