00:00Hello there. Friday is looking much colder than last few days, with the risk of ice,
00:05particularly early on, courtesy of some snow showers. First of all though, let me take
00:10you through the bigger picture. This is the cold front which delineates the milder air
00:14towards the south east, the colder conditions further north and west. An ice warning in
00:19place through the early hours into Friday morning as those snow showers move in. And
00:23this cold front here will actually produce some quite heavy rain just for a time before
00:28it clears the south east on Friday morning and then much of the UK bathed in that colder,
00:34clearer air. So let's backtrack to Thursday evening. Rain pushes down towards England
00:39and Wales. Now on the back edge of the rain, as that cold air digs in, you could see a
00:42transient spell of sleet and snow just for a time. And certainly the risk of ice across
00:47the north and the west with those snow showers moving in on a cold, blustery wind. So a bitterly
00:52cold start to the day come Friday morning. Watch out for icy stretches on untreated roads.
00:58Now through the morning into the afternoon, that rain clears towards the south east. Some
01:01clearer and brighter weather, but the wind will be pretty relentless everywhere, particularly
01:05across the north and the west of the country where those showers will continue. Wintry
01:08over the higher ground, certainly some snow at lower levels along the coast, a mix of
01:12rain and hail with the risk of thunder. Here's your bigger picture through Saturday. Some
01:17milder air slowly wafts across more northern areas with more clouds and outbreaks of rain
01:21sinking down towards the south on Sunday where we will see some patchy rain. The air then
01:26turns colder, a cold wind across the north and also the risk of some wintry showers through
01:30the day on Sunday. Some brighter weather here as well before things turn slightly milder
01:35into the beginning of the working week. Bye bye.
